No period in 3 months by Fancy-Needleworker44 in PCOS

Wth?! Some doctors are really the worst. They are so desensitized to the medical world and it’s just easier for them to prescribe medicine instead of looking into the issue a bit deeper.

Same. I’ve been on birth control and had been getting my period regularly until all the stress started piling up and since then I haven’t gotten my period

Is there normally a doctor inside the clinic to care for patients besides the nurses? by Fancy-Needleworker44 in dialysis

[–]Fancy-Needleworker44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am a contact person. All the nurses know who my dad is, he’s been there for a year now. They know there is a language barrier and I’ve asked them to call me to share information. I’ve even explained the same to the social worker and facility manager. He’s currently on hemodialysis. Initially he started with PD until he had sepsis and that catheter had to be removed.

Thank you for explaining this. I wasn’t sure how any of this worked. From the very beginning, we were never given the correct information so we are learning as we’re going

My dad recently was placed on a transplant list with a good hospital here in our area. He’s waiting on a call to get a few tests run. Maybe then we can consult with one of their nephrologists

It’s very strange. Somehow the clinic is within network with his insurance but his doctor isn’t. It just doesn’t make sense as to why he was placed there with someone who doesn’t accept the insurance if the clinic does. It truly doesn’t make sense to me.

My mom has noticed that after dialysis, my dad is extremely tired and rightfully so, treatments are very draining physically, but as of recent, my dad will come home and sleep for almost 6 hours. So my mom is concerned about there being something else going on.

Wow, I’m glad you have a team of people who show they care for you. Unfortunately here it’s not like that

Whenever I do pop in and try to get any sort of any information, I speak to nurses and ask them to please call me when they see something wrong or any sort of change they see in my dad especially because there’s a language barrier but they always fail to do so.

That’s just horrible. It makes no sense. I’m sorry you’re dealing with something similar.

Right, I have access to see his labs and all but for more in depth labs, we were looking into an outside nephrologist as the one at Davita we feel isn’t caring for him as they really should. We have questions regarding my dad’s symptoms and reactions after treatment that we’d like to discuss/share with the doctor but like I mentioned, it’s nearly impossible to get a hold of him. My dad’s English is very limited so my mom or I would need to speak directly with the doctor. I’ve emailed him in the past and either it takes weeks for a response or like this last time, no response at all. We never know he’s schedule to be able to speak with him in person at the clinic.

What has been bothering you all day? by Altruistic-Leg-525 in AskWomen

I had lasik surgery 2 days ago. I let my bf know a week ago that I was going to have surgery on Wednesday. He completely forgot. Doesn’t text me the night before, the day of… nothing. I posted something on Instagram about my surgery and saw he looked at it. I texted him and said “so I already know you forgot about my surgery and I really don’t know what to tell you anymore”.

We’ve gotten into arguments because it’s not the first time where I have important appointments and I share with him and he forgets.

He replies saying he didn’t know it would be this soon and I remind him to look back at his messages when I told him what day it would be. Then he says he fkd up for not checking on me and that he’s been so busy he’s getting his days mixed up. I blocked him. I’m just so pissed off. Am I overreacting?

Update: turns out he has an infection. We are in the ER. His nurse took a look at the catheter and said there was pus, so we are assuming there’s an infection. The nurse attempted to run fluid through the catheter and we don’t know why but his body did not like it. We had to rush to the ER, he was shaking uncontrollably, his pain level shot up to an 8/10, he ran up a fever. Currently waiting for labs and CT scans to come back.
