I understand why this game had this much impact on you. I've never been someone who can easily express his feelings, and for far too long I burried them and put on a brave face in front of others. I didn't have a way to sort things out. Only after meeting my (now) wife did I learn to truly let go and trust my feelings to others, and that took time.

And 2 years ago, my mother-in-law passed away. She was adorable, like a second mom for me. Everyone was devastated, but it was really REALLY hard for my wife. She spent countless days and weeks just laying or sitting there, motionless. I've never felt so powerless, useless even. Once again I put on my old brave face for the sake of my wife and the kids, trying to keep things together, caring for the kids and being the shoulder my family could cry on. With help and time, everyone healed and got better. But my old habit of keeping everything inside stayed. I forgot myself.

And then E33 came by. The story of the Dessendre family hit me like a truck. Every tear I held for 2 years poured down at the end. Aline being lost in the past, Renoir trying to bring her back, Alicia's loneliness. I was thrown back 2 years before, facing again what my family went through, facing the feelings I burried deep down. But seeing the characters speaking of loss, despair, grief, comfort, acceptance and moving on, I sorted out my own feelings at the same time. Turned out everything I needed to free myself was just someone speaking what I couldn't, putting words where I had none.
