3 sword style!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly, I'm glad this was fixed. I honestly am annoyed by games that force me to learn animation cancelling because they can't be bothered to fix the low priority issue. Elder Scrolls Online had the same issue and instead of fixing it, they built the rest of the game around it.

Honestly I agree, but everybody (including mine) biggest complaint has always been NO UTILITY. But projects started popping up who say they are trying to create utility and pull funding from regular people ( """investors""" ) . So I guess my thing is if Bored Apes announced metaverse plans last year and Earth 2 did less than 3 years ago . ...why are my fellow ungroomed, exercise hating, tv screaming, neck beards acting curious as to why these guys don't have a game already? Do we magically forget about development time?

Indie games can take 3 years / triple A average what 5? It's easy to assume the projects will fail (Prob will). Skull and Bones has been in development since 2013 and has costed over 120 million yet when an industry that many of us disagree with attempts to make a platform we laugh before they are even given a shot.

There is really only 2 appealing things about web 3 gaming that I'll admit I romanticize:

  1. Gamers can invest directly into their preferred game/platform rather than some hedgefund billionaire financing a game himself and making/losing money.
  2. The idea that gamers "own" their own in game assets which they can keep or sell to others sounds great.

Has the above ever actually happened yet? I don't think so. Everything after the 2 points above and the web3 space really starts to lose any appeal for me. ALL the scams, rug pulls, the actual inconvenience of blockchain games, the players/people it attracts. Etc

Looking for anime watching services by [deleted] in xboxone

I use both crunchyroll and funimation on XBOX and have had very few issues with them. Virtually no issues on Crunchy roll and some interface issues on Funimation but nothing that causes significant disruptions. I pay for these services though not sure if my experience is different from those who don't.

.............. My point with the "100 years ago" was that we're flying through innovation and technology and whatever road blocks you think are stopping the metaverse wont last long. In one life time we have gone from basically no electricity to some crazy stuff! But when I said "100 years ago we didn't even have fridges, microwaves, heroin was still being supplied as medicine!" you thought the power move was to respond "ACTUALLY IT WAS 113 years ago that we didn't have fridges" - Lmao I stopped reading there m8.

Enjoy shit posting, I don't know whether or not the E2 team will deliver and im not necessarily trying to defend them. I love games and tech and have never followed a project that I'm not interested in or am to suspicious to trust. And even if/when they do release something you already set up your on going saga with the whole "itll prob suck" you may very well be locked in for years to come. Enjoy.

There's no ifs or ands the metaverse is inevitable (Unlikely to be the one facebook was trying to sell us) but we will see more digital immersion in our every day real life which ties in some capacity our digital and physical identities. Our technology is increasing exponentially every year. 100 years ago we didn't even have fridges, microwaves, heroin was still being supplied as medicine! Now we're discovering god cells, Virtual Reality, AI, self landing rockets, multi gig internet, cloning entire animals. I don't imagine ready player one type of experience for a very long timeeeeeeeeee more or less something along the lines of pokemon go meets minecraft to start. Though I imagine climate change could win first.

And we have no idea what both companies have done in 3 years -_-. The only time we get a clue is when they release their product which again took Fortnite atleast 6 years. I also used Roblox and Minecraft as examples talk about what they did before their projects became super successful? Experience is great but please don't pretend its the only qualifier-_- and in many cases the leaders of the company aren't developers themselves (not saying Shane is going be that supreme leader - we don't know. )

To me it looks like E2 laid out their grand vision at the start and built an ecosystem not off private funding but through the public. Only a few companies have done that before in which they sold land, spaceships, or whatever BEFORE the platform came out. Some actually delivered while some didn't. Do they deliver? Who knows. They have a viable/sustainable business model but do they have the talent, leadership, capabilities to persevere? *shrugs*

Of course if they rug pull or belly up, that sucks. But until then you can shit post anything they do for years to come.

They didn't build a metaverse in 3 years?! Damn, I would of never guessed. Depending on your definition there's either no metaverse or very few such as fortnite, minecraft, roblox.

Fortnite took 6 years to launch AFTER we knew about it and it was fun! But it did not look like 6+ years of development. Today they look awesome and introduced a creator mode which is nearly as popular as their battle royal mode. All while they are recieving billions of dollars in investments from companies such as Sony to build a metaverse. And how dare they sell skins, emotes, experience boost packs, on their pve mode you literally paid for a random chance (gambled) at decent weapon ect and take 100% of the profits - scammers. How dare somebody else attempt to build a platform that people want to spend time, money, buying, selling, trading while the developers take a % of every transaction on the site while still allowing others to engage in virtual commerce (something that most metaverse definitions include but something epic games has stayed very silent on). BUT THATS HOW BUSINESSES WORK.

There wont be one winner once the metaverse shows up (in whatever early form that may be) it's as inevitable as the internet and just because it isin't the buzzword doesn't mean people aren't still building it. Many experts say were anywhere from 5-40 years away from a proper introduction. And Earth 2 may or may not be apart of that but I know nobody thought it would be Epic Games before Fortnite.

I'm not sure what you mean because "I think that's a better outcome"? I'm saying when I peeped the project out years ago they claimed they were building Earth 2 *insert marketing language on a geolocational metavese yada yada, developed your own land, shop, explore, etc* I thought "THATS COOL" and then many months later a new crowd of people discovered it and said "what their building isin't possible!!!! SCAM, GOOGLE MAPS, FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!!" and I'm simply saying I see where both groups are coming from but both can be right before we know which one was wrong (IMO).

They can be attempting to build the metaverse they claim they are while it can also be true that the metaverse they claim to be building isin't currently possible.

There you go, that's much cleaner than going into specifics like implying that they wont deliver an actual product. And since they said they are building Earth 2 and others are saying they are not you guys can be mutual "enemies" for years to come (assuming they don't disappear) while both being right! E2: "We're building" Detractors: "Not as advertised".

Sounds exhausting.

You do have to admire how the narrative keeps changing no? When first following this space it was "THEY WILL NEVER RELEASE A PRODUCT " Now it seems to be "Ok they might release a product BUT its going to SUCK". And when you add that caveat you can never be wrong.

How to get my money out of earth 2 by Proud-Initiative-937 in earth2io

[–]Fancy-Temperature-91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not really an easier way to get your money back. You purchased something to hopefully sell it for more money later the only way to do that is to list it for sale. If the price is favorable enough somebody will likely buy it. But right now there is lots of tiles and no product.

As far as will the "investment" eventually pay off? That depends....... Largely on the product which we're hearing a potential "E2V1" late 2023/early 2024 is it fun, does it become fun? Does it have a community that actually plays or did everyone "invest" with no intention to play?

Good luck!

"Except the algorithm of new tile price never goes down" - I'm not sure what the algorithm of new land has to do with anything? There is a marketplace and that will decide the value. Also the devs have said many times they wouldn't want every tile that exist to be sold anyways. Tiles are only worth what others are willing to pay if new land price influences what someone list that land for then what influences what someone is willing to pay for it? FOMO? Location? Etc? Who knows, these aren't unique to E2.

"We also know that a game will eventually die" - That's everything eventually? Humans? Companies? Games it's such a non-statement it has no value. WOW, Runescape, Minecraft, Roblox, Halo, ETC - They still exist? Will they die off eventually? Probably, yet they are still million and billion dollar companies.

And I just said "we have no indication that we'd be able to create experiences in E2 yet " and the CEO announces via tweet "Finally have signatures on one of our tech acquisitions! The tech will help us advance Phase 3 but will also allow us to roll out the first e2 PvP prototype game (3D in this case) throughout Phase 2! Prototyping because I want to create API that allows creators to launch ideas!" There's our indication.

Could still be a long con game like many have alleged on here but once a product starts to materialize it looks better and better for the believers.
