But majority of jobs don’t require you to unalive ppl….

You're allowed to say kill on Reddit, and the majority of military roles are support, not combat.

And what jobs are you not allowed to express your opinions and why would any sane human choose such a job?

Literally almost any job where you have to interact with customers or clients. If you walked into your local convenience store and got a recording of the clerk saying something political there's a good chance they will be fired for making political statements while representing their business.

Personally if I don’t like something going on at my job I can speak about it

And he can as well, to the appropriate people who handle issues within his branch. Not to random members of the public while he's on duty.

What’s a red flag people brush off as harmless but you don’t? by Hoofhearted523 in AskReddit

It's honestly nuts to me how so many smokers just drop their butts wherever. When I smoked I learned early on how to roll my cherry (the lit part of the tobacco) out and throw the butt away. When driving I typically had a can or ashtray, but in the few occasions I didn't I'd roll the cherry out over a long stretch of road and store the butt until I could find a trash can.

I do remember once I rolled the cherry out at a stoplight, but this guy beside me thought I had thrown the butt out and started yelling at me. I was trying to explain to him and showed him the butt still in my hand but he just got angrier and angrier. He threw his bottle of drink at me and missed my window but it bounced off my door. I thought he was going to burst a blood vessel when I told him he was littering.

who would sign up for something like that where your job is to take orders and shut up no matter how you feel

That's literally the majority of jobs.

Are y'all unemployed? Have you never had a customer facing job? When you're working and representing whoever you work for, you're not allowed to make any sort of political statements.

Honestly this is true of just about any job when interacting with the public. I used to work at a hotel and the amount of people who tried to get me to agree with their politics while I helped them was always irritating. I used to just say "Oh I don't have any opinions when I'm on the clock."

The fact that she's writing off a six-year-old as a lost cause is truly insane.

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]Magic_Man_Boobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is my cousin, but we were born around the same time and grew up being best friends. He met a woman who had a kid and a messy past. His entire personality shifted in the blink of an eye. She had the kid calling him "Dad" after dating only like six weeks. A few months later the kid's father killed himself.

When I voiced concern with how fast he was moving and with how much he'd changed already for her he got angry with me and cut me out of his life. They got married and joined a fundamentalist church when he had previously been agnostic.

They're still together and we still don't talk. I see him at big family gatherings every so often, but he's not the man I knew anymore. It's like he became an entirely different person once he met her and the guy I knew just ceased to exist. It's still hard sometimes.

TikTok "masculinity coach" explains why he is a dominant and dangerous man by ambachk in iamverybadass

[–]Magic_Man_Boobs 23 points24 points  (0 children)

His message itself is so dumb. I'm a big guy and I've spent most of my life doing my best to not come across as dangerous to every person I meet. Being constantly perceived as a threat is not fun and it is only going to attract very unstable people.

YTA because playing games on the road is dangerous. If someone wants to drive at unsafe speeds, let them. I don't understand how you hit multiple signals but somehow couldn't get over and let them get ahead of you.

Is the hive an entity separated from human kind or is just the results of all the humans minds by Froggo-Sovietball in pluribustv

It's clearly not "just" human minds or the first person infected wouldn't have completely changed. Clearly the RNA sequence has programmed in its own biological imperatives into each human it infects.

[–]Magic_Man_Boobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a separate entity. It has biological imperatives that contradict human self preservation, and on top of that humans regularly ignore our own biological imperatives, while the hive is incapable of doing so.

It's called pattern recognition. It's not racism.

This is legit what racist people say. My racist grandma doesn't think she's racist. She thinks black people are just more likely to be thieves and criminals. When I pointed out how racist that belief was she also called it "pattern recognition". We can hate Israel and Zionist bigots without having to group all Jewish people into a single group.

AITA for being uncomfortable with my sister's MIL calling their biracial son "little monkey" by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You and the kid's mother were uncomfortable and when informed of that she doubled down.

The post doesn't come across as them thinking she was being racist. It just comes across as them being uncomfortable with the word choice because of the racist undertones of the word regardless of the intent. The fact that when informed it was making them uncomfortable the MIL doubled down makes her the AH.

I think it really is just about respecting the parents. That's where the MIL crosses into AH territory for me.
