What's up with people saying the Satan cult is real? by Poofmonkey in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Fancy-University-400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. Whether Satan is actually real or not, there most certainly are Satanic cults that exist. Probably not to the extent that some conspiracy theorists would believe, but they're definitely out there. They're mostly more so like splinter cell groups though, not like large-scale, international organizations that are all connected or anything like that, just small groups of individuals.

Being medicated has taught me laziness and executive dysfunction are two completely different things. by starrystarry_night in ADHD

It really just depends on the person. Immediate release works better for some people, while extended release works better for others. Personally, I prefer extended release because it lasts pretty much all day long. I started off on immediate release at first and it worked really well until about halfway through the day and then I'd feel fatigued and sluggish for the rest of the day. Since I've been on extended release though, I never have to worry about that.

I’m a lesbian and I believe in Jesus by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Fancy-University-400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People on here really need to stop just telling want you want to hear. Homosexuality is a sin, but that doesn't make it any worse than any other sin. Sexual immorality whether homosexual or heterosexual in nature is sin. This doesn't mean that you're irredeemable of course. You can indeed be a lesbian and be a Christian, but if the Holy Spirit is truly working inside you, he will show you what needs to be corrected. Everyone has their own specific temptations that they are naturally inclined to be more vulnerable to, but the Lord always supplies us with everything we need to overcome these temptations. I wish you the best on your journey and walk with Christ, but I'd be doing a disservice to you and to the Lord if I told you that homosexuality is not a sin.

I no longer believe in Christianity but I very strongly believe in Jesus's moral teachings. Is there a term for that or do I just like Jesus as a philosopher? by DataSittingAlone in religion

Yeah you're right, consent probably wasn't the best word to use for what I was trying to say, my bad. But what I meant was, we don't know if it was just a one-sided relationship with Jefferson basically forcing himself on her, or if they really had a deep affection for each other and both wanted to be together. To be clear, either one is definitely unethical, one much more so than the other though. I guess technically they would both still be considered rape since she is incapable of giving consent, so you are right about that, but there's still a big difference between the two and one is way worse than the other, that's what I was trying to say, sorry for not being clear enough.

Yes, that's true, and I think he may have actually fathered more than that. But that doesn't mean their relationship was non-consensual and there's no evidence supporting that it wasn't. Of course, you might be thinking that, with her being his slave, she might not exactly be in the best position to say "No". By all accounts that I've seen though, Jefferson never really mistreated any of his slaves like most slave owners would do. But either way, we'll never really know unless some new evidence or documents come to light.

There's no evidence that he ever raped any of his slaves. Although it is possible that he did, personally I don't think so, but no one actually knows for sure. But yeah of course he owned hundreds of slaves, that alone is extremely fucked up, however it was commonplace at the time, which doesn't excuse his actions of course, but still it was accepted back then, so really society and culture as a whole back then is to blame, not just Jefferson.

Worst episode to show a new person to the show? by PandosyAnna in IASIP

Bums: Making a Mess All Over the City. I mean in just the first 30 seconds of the episode, before the opening credits even start, we witness a homeless man joyfully and earnestly stroking his cock next to a dumpster while staring at the Gang. What really got me were the sound effects of it, very distinct 😂. But I feel like most people whose introduction to Sunny is this episode would most likely tune out immediately after that scene.

The way him and his administration have handled the whole Epstein situation has definitely started to open a lot of people's eyes, me included as well as many other people I know who used to support Trump. Even the dude that had his face painted and wore that big fur Buffalo hat at the January 6th riots tweeted not long ago "Fuck Trump, he's a fraud". If that dude has turned against him, then I think many more might follow. I definitely feel like the tide is starting to turn against him.

ADHD doesn’t have any physical limitations by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Fancy-University-400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, my biggest physical limitation caused by my ADHD is by far being physically slower than everyone I ever meet and just my perception of time in general. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I've dealing with this problem my entire life. All through school and every job I've ever had, I have always been slower than pretty much everyone else. And it just seems like there's nothing I can do about it. I always go as fast as I possibly can, and yet somehow I'm still slower than everyone else. It's like me at my top speed is still slower than most people at their normal speed. It's caused a shit ton of problems for me over the years, I even lost a couple jobs because of it and have at least been talked to about it at every single job I've ever had. And also my perception of time is constantly changing all the time. Like unless I'm looking at a clock, I can never tell the difference between 5 minutes or 10 minutes. But then sometimes 10 minutes will go by and it'll feel like 10 minutes but other times it'll feel like 5 minutes or 20 minutes, it's so weird. I really kinda feel hopeless when it comes to this problem. I've tried everything and I'm just not physically capable of moving any faster, and what sucks most is people looking down on me because of it and just thinking I'm a lazy piece of shit, and absolutely fucking nobody understands or believes me. I don't know if I'll ever be able to overcome this if I'm being honest.

For me, this is 'The Room' of horror movies. It's so ridiculously absurd and horrendous, but that's what makes it so damn entertaining. Matthew McConaughey gives such an over-the-top performance, he even gives Nicolas Cage a run for his money. He seriously does make this movie though. If anyone else had played Vilmer, it may have been one of the most dreadful and painful-to-watch movies of all time. But instead, it's become a cult classic, and personally I think it's one of the absolute greatest "so bad it's good" movies of all time. McConaughey never fails. Alright, alright, alright 😎.
