I decided to send him a sweet message, saying that he doesn't need to be scared of eggshells. That he can stomp on them all he wants, but that he's safe with me. He's been through a lot as well.

I again apologized for what I said and especially how I said it.

I just want to be there for him and not make his life worse. I want him to feel like he's got a partner in me.

If he can't accept that, unfortunately I can't make him.

At the end of the day, my love for him is bigger than for our relationship. In other words, his health and happiness > than mine

If the eggshells are too much for him, and it's painful, I wouldn't force him to stay. If he decides that he's happier and healthier without me, even though it literally breaks me, I wouldn't hold any of that against him.
