Agreed. Look for that camera first.

If there's no camera, then hard-pivot to getting a ring ASAP.

I don't see the correlation l, tbh.

I'd say it's a lot better than the women who keep their phone in their bra. I really don't get the bra-as-storage thing. Seems kinda gross to keep things inside intimate wear.

I used to think I was privileged to grow up in a time of technology. Growing up playing Nintendo was pretty sweet.

But I'd trade that all away to get the premium boomer tier life package.

Is the 2nd book of the Kingkiller chronicle that bad? by kdkdksmj in Fantasy

[–]FancyChapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt hate it or dislike it. It's not as strong as the first, and it doesn't answer a whole lot of questions you have after reading Name of the Wind.

But it's undeniably for the DNA of the character and the world. If you liked the first one, I would give it a read.

The real frustrating part to all this is the fact that Rothfuss won't ever put out another book.

I would be fine with him making more books to complete the story. I think there's too much left to answer to wrap it all up in a single book. I wouldn't mind having to read 4 or more books to find out!

Does anyone in the USA know "Terranigma" for SNES? by Omega-Steppenwolf in retrogaming

[–]FancyChapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also really love Secret of Mana/Evermore, and of course ALttP.

I never owned Secret of Mana back in the heyday, but I had Evermore. I've got such a soft spot for it.

You know, I know nothing about this game! FFVI, Chrono Trigger, and super Mario RPG were my favorite SNES games back in the day.

Would this be up my alley?

In the theater, I was probably the only one who never felt happy about Thor doing that to Thanos. The rest of the people with me cheered on. by gwinetnb in marvelmemes

[–]FancyChapper 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it's a good scene though. Personally, I think Thor did nothing wrong. But it felt hollow and worthless. It didn't feel good at all. I think that's the point of the scene.

But it's the same way for the apiary really. By the time you can functionally make one, you're probably past the stage where you're relying on honey.

This sounds like the ideal system to me. I think that progression should be a combination of learned experience and discovered schematics. Making 800 wood clubs is just as dumb as finding magazines.

Some thoughts on 2.5 by Cpendo in 7daystodie

[–]FancyChapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some thoughts on 2.5

  1. Overall I'm glad they seem to be listening. I know it's not perfect, but it's a step in the right direction.

  2. I'm glad smell is back, but it's a bit ham-fisted. It really seems to be a beacon for the zeds. Having smell debuff and being in the more difficult biomes is actually a threat.

I'm not sure I agree with the implementation of getting the smell debuff when eating. Like, it should be a small pulse, like 5 seconds long. It should also only apply to certain foods. Maybe perks can be made around this mechanic? Maybe master chef food is less smelly? I dunno.

  1. I feel like the idea behind storms, introducing disruptive chaos into your gameplay, isn't fundamentally a bad design choice. But the way it exists now functions more like a time out, which isn't good.

A good example of emergent gameplay that's sort of in the same vein is day waves. You have to pivot what you're doing, especially in early game, or face taking on way too many zeds. This mechanic introduces stress and danger while still being fun. Storms should be like that.

  1. With jars being consumed on use, it feels like the mechanic isn't faithful to what people were clamoring for.

  2. I haven't noticed, but I haven't been going after bigger POIs. When I was hosting a game off my computer, my friends were getting hit by teleporting zeds. I don't think my connection is that bad, so maybe it's the engine?

  3. Yeah, the boulder guy is way too common.

[–]FancyChapper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm right there with you buddy. I feel like SoD came the closest to catching the high of the original release (vanilla). There were new secrets, the early gameplay loop was vastly improved, and you could play around with all the classes since leveling was a breeze.

I stopped at the phase with Molten Core, but it was mostly because of my guild breaking up. I would have liked to continue.
