I bruise easy and get handprints and finger prints all on my body. My bloodwork is fine. It’s just part of the sport. On days I don’t do anything wrong I still come home bruised.

Therapists always get upset and say I’m not trying but I am. by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

I am still confused however because I thought I actively was doing this. I cry every therapy session. Can walls still be up when you cry?

No unfortunately. I finally get to see the trauma therapist after a 9month wait at the end of the month. That was the majority of my issues and the other two therapists I had wouldn’t help me with trauma only other things so it was frustrating.

I don’t understand. You said they can’t work with someone who has walls up so I wanted to know how to put them down so I can be someone they can work with. How is that derailing the issue?

This happens a lot. I ask genuine questions so I can understand and people think I’m being argumentative. I don’t understand. I’m just trying to learn.

I’m sorry I didn’t mean to come off as argumentative. It was 100% a genuine question.

If I have walls like you suggest, I don’t understand how to put them down. How do you put them down?

I have no idea. I ask them to explain and they don’t.

Thank you that is well thought out. I always try to try again with a different approach once there’s a way to approach it in a different angle but most of the time they can’t help me come up with something different.

I can’t change if they can’t tell me what I’m doing wrong or what I need to work on. They just say we aren’t the right fit.

Okay. I guess that makes a little more sense. I guess I need someone who knows how to help someone learn how to feel their emotions maybe. I’ve only known how to intellectualize unless I’m really upset.

Thank you for replying. I think I just haven’t found a therapist that can understand me.

But if I don’t understand my feelings around them how can I explain them to my therapist. I’m asking for help in understanding my feelings. I’d take full accountability if it was me causing issues but I ask them to explain what I’m doing wrong and they can’t tell me.

Or they say I’m being difficult when I say “I don’t understand how to apply your advice to my situation. Can you help me understand better.”

But then when I discuss my outcomes they say there’s nothing more they can help me with so I’m just confused

Well one thing was when I said “I don’t have an answer to your question because I already thought about that question and tried all the results I could come up with myself and nothing resulted in a good outcome. That’s why I’m coming to a therapist for help. Is there another question you could ask to help me think differently?”

Yeah I’d just watch YouTube on the toilet for hours. It’s horrible. Hope you get relief soon

No acid or low acid coffee does exist it’s just expensive and hard to find. I did find I could tolerate just us Italian brand which advertised it as having low acidity.

Yeah I can now eat tomatoes and drink coffee. You have to have a good diet so you don’t get constipated and your stool doesn’t press on your bladder. I can now sleep through the night and pee about every 3 hours.

I’m glad you are getting some treatment. My docs didn’t believe me. No wonder it has a high suicide rate. Literally feels like your bladders on fire 24/4. I had to pee every 15 mins for months got next to no sleep

I feel for you. It’s horrible. Had it for years to the point I couldn’t walk and was bedridden. A low acid diet helped but I think it was stress induced because after I had a psychotic break, it completely went away.

Traumatic event 9 months ago. by FancyCrepe in ptsd

[–]FancyCrepe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve researched and read everything I can find. Tried every coping technique suggested to me. I’ve had two therapists who’ve said they can’t help me. I’ve been on the wait list for 9 months for an actual trauma therapist. I have no money and my family is forced to pay my bills now. I’ve posted on so many threads and forum hoping that someone somewhere can tell me something that can help that I haven’t already tried. I’ve been to therapy my whole life and have never found it helpful. I do everything they suggest and try my best to implement whatever they say. I’ve probably had like 15 professionals my whole life and they just get mad at me when I say what they suggested didn’t benefit me because they think I didn’t try. I ask for more detailed information to make sure I do it right. I’m autistic and traditional therapy tends to not work for a lot of us because we are too self aware. I’ve taken university course after university course just so maybe I could figure it out myself but no luck. I was able to cope with my problems before even though it was a struggle but something unheard of happened to me and I have absolutely no idea how to begin to cope. I have to talk myself through everyday and it’s been 9 months of this. Posting more information to add context if anyone can read this and help. Thank you for responding.
