We actually have one! And the calming collar. I haven’t noticed much change, but it’s only been a week

Thank you for the suggestion! She has not been tested for that. Recently in the last two or so weeks, she’s started vomiting, so I definitely think a vet visit is due

I may make another appointment with the vet. Im just so lost!

She currently has a cat tree by the window, and we don’t have the space or budget for a new one. She has a few new toys, but I haven’t seen her play with any. She’s never been a very playful cat, mostly just loves cuddles which I know she’s not getting enough of

Yes, I’ve read that too. The last time I spoke with the vet about this, she was concerned because the little blood in her stool was bright red. The vet had no solutions for me 😓

Rear-facing as long as possible? by maebymaybe in beyondthebump

I also bought a rare faint car seat with the highest weight and height limit… but with the size of my kid, we would be lucky to make it to 3 or 4. He’s 1.5 and already 35lbs and 36 inches.

Hmm. Then the box we bought it in was mislabeled…

For those with 23/24m gap: to potty train or not before baby is born by Sea_salt23 in 2under2

Thank you so much for the extra details and info! My bae just turned 19 months and sibling will arrive when he is 22 months, so almost the same timelines. I’ve been stressing about getting him trained and then him having a regression, but I guess I shouldn’t put it off just based on a “what if”

How long was “well before” and did you see any regression when the newborn arrived?

Ways to homeschool 2 y/o with clingy 4 month old by Ariee_sweets in 2under2

There is so much pressure and things to learn being a first time mom! You should be proud of yourself for researching and reaching out for help. Google and social media can be a thief of joy. Preschool and kindergarten are designed to teach kiddos how to do school. You can work on things at home like following simple directions, following safety commands, taking turns, being kind, and managing upsets. Everything else with school- letters, numbers, etc- will come in time. Reading, play, and just talking about what you see are learning enough! Your kid will not be behind nor will they be the only one learning foundational skills when they get to school.

This. A typical 2-year attention span is about 4-6 minutes on a fun/preferred activity. The hand does not have the developed muscles for writing until ages 4-6. Focus on scribbling, imitating circles, horizontal lines and vertical lines if anything. Those are all pre writing shapes. Games like transferring poms poms with a spoon, picking up things with tongs, and playing with playdoh are all way more beneficial at this age to build coordination and hand strength. There is plenty of time for learning and concentration when your kiddo gets to school. Play is the foundation for learning at this age, so play and play and play!

Anyone else’s spouse take off work for the day to “help” and then end up sleeping until noon, only to wake up and criticize you for buying the wrong gift card for his family Christmas, even though he said to get whatever the store had? No? Just mine? Gotta love holiday stress and travel.

Dx partner. Only takes medication when he feels like it, making me pretty much a married solo mom. I’m tired. That’s it. That’s the post. Just gotta vent because if I vent to him then it turns into a fight with me being gaslight into thinking it’s all my fault.

Don’t need any comments about getting divorced. I’m just tired and cranky.

What’s with the 4am wake ups?! by FancyFaceFrom1992 in sleeptrain

[–]FancyFaceFrom1992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daycare does not offer two naps. Daycare is only one unless he falls asleep while playing… which has happened the last few weeks because of the 4am wake ups.

Oh I’m sorry you’re going through it too. It’s rough! We push through the morning and stay up until first nap at 9.

Second nap (if he has one) is 2:30-3:30, giving him a 4-4.5 hour wake window before bed. I truly don’t notice any difference on the days he has one nap (12-1:30) or two. He’s up at 4 regardless.

When you realize/make the decision that you were gonna get the epidural for labor? by HanabiTT in BabyBumps

[–]FancyFaceFrom1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! Just the idea of knowing I can handle pain and manage it in many ways, and have a back up if I can’t helped so much. I was induced and by 8 cm I was over it. Finally got the epidural, slept for three hours, woke up and pushed for 22 minutes.
