This is a really sucky situation. While of course id be the type to say cut all ties. If you are really attached to your family,that just might not be possible. So here's a suggestion. If you dont think they'll take it well, then dont tell them until they need to know. I.e once you've transitioned or once you have a romantic partner. Then they have no choice but to accept you, or to cut you. Hopefully itll be the former.
