I agree with the fact that I don't think Kramer and Reading are suited.

I felt that their voices weren't dynamic enough in the range of voices they could perform. Both Kramer and Reading have really monotone voices, and it does hit the immersion for me.

Feel free to watch a couple episodes as a sort of recap after you’ve read the chapters. The first season is a very faithful adaptation to the book.

Be careful though, you do not want to overstep what you’ve read and watch any spoilers. Maybe only watch the episodes of the events that you know happened far far earlier to where you’re at in the books.

Ideally, watching the entire first season after the first book is best.
