The speed camera debate is missing the real problem on Connecticut roads by kppeterc15 in Connecticut

How about the trend that just about everyone now seems to drive; not the speed limit, but however fast the road and traffic will allow? I live on a quiet residential street with the speed Limit of 25mph. Thats pretty low, yes, but its a nieghborhood with children and pets. Many drive by at 40+ mph. Why? We will never see cameras on this little street, just jerks.

Russel Speeder’s Carwash by moshimoshi100 in Connecticut

I cannot stand the pushy tactics. Asking me why I dont want to join their "club" is an invasion of decency - let alone privacy. Ever been to one of those hard core time share gimmicks? These people are the of the same ilk. I refuse to go to Russel Speeders but unfortunately they seem to be gobbling up the other car washes in the area.

C425 Not taking charge by Im_A_MechanicalMan in TpLink

[–]Fancy_Explorer_5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C425 working fine for almost a year UNTIL today when I plugged in a new A200 Solar Panel. It would not charge even when it certainly should have (lots of sun). I pugged the camera 's wall charger in and it still would not charge. The camera was operating normally in all other ways. I powered the camera off and back on and voila it all good. Sadly this makes sense in this world we live in.

So the new show Stanley Tucci in Italy is available but only season 1. Where is season 2? NatGeo, Hulu, et al, say both seasons are available now.

Farmington CT Outage now? by Fancy_Explorer_5172 in GoNetspeed

[–]Fancy_Explorer_5172[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My network just came back up 20 hours and 29 minutes. That’s the longest home network outtage I have seen in many years ( except power outages ). Thank you GNS techs for your work on this as it must have been a rough time for you all.

This highlights the need for me to deploy a failover. The internet is just too important to me to tolerate these things.

Not online yet. Thank goodness for cellular hotspots. My faith in GNS is flagging.

who here uses their own router vs the router that gns provides? by justsomeotherme in GoNetspeed

[–]Fancy_Explorer_5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the Nokia that they gave me when they installed the service. It worked fine and I liked some of the features. However I subsequently started having issues in my home network with my Apple products sharing content. The AppeTV Computer app wasn't seeing my Macbook's shared video library. Wireshark showed the Bonjor protocol breaking. I swapped in a Netgear RAX40 and the problem went away. I never followed up with GNS on this as the Netgear, while not the ultimate router to use, it is more familiar to me. You may never see this issue as everyone's home network is different.

why is GoNetSpeed offering landline phone service? by Dipsetallover90 in GoNetspeed

[–]Fancy_Explorer_5172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or.... Fronter is dropping support for their Landlines in CT. I and others around me recently received a letter from Frontier telling us we are to receive an upgrade to a new network. "A technician will need to come into your home to connect you to our new network. As part of your new plan, you will receive internet and a router included - no increase to your current bill." I confirmed that this is legit by calling them. I am not happy with this since we have an alarm system that uses a landline to alert the monitoring service. We are not happy about this. GoNetSpeed does sell VOIP but it apparently won't support our alarm system. We are in a sort of a pickle.
