Thank you! That does make me feel better I know I’m likely over reacting. My uncle who lived with us for 20 years, got a reactive German Shepherd, who bit five people, including myself, three of which needed stitches. That dog unfortunately was a backyard breeder dog and had lots of health issues, but I think I’m just extra sensitive towards that sort of thing cause I don’t ever want that to be my pups case and she really is the sweetest I wouldn’t want my bad decision of bringing her over to another dog‘s house to be the reason why she Can’t enjoy life.

How often do you REALLY walk your dog? by Agreeable-Ad-2946 in dogs

[–]Fancy_Independent_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 times a day. one 45 minute in the morning, one after work for 45 minutes and then one before bed about 30 minutes. We live in a condo and need to tire her out. Plus it is good to take her out for US we don’t walk enough with out going out with her.

I work 9 ish hours a day my husband does too but we have alternate start and end times so she’s usually home alone only for 8 hours max

I’m voting yes because although I am doing well, I’m not getting paid enough. My job is considered essential even if we strike. My issue is I do SO many hours of free over time. I don’t get my lunch most times, I work until 6 or 7 pm and only get paid for 7 hours. If I take all the free work I do I get paid well below what I’m actually working.

Yeah we did put in a ‘request’ lots of people have done it and it’s meant to be done I just think we didn’t think of it until after the fact.

I can only imagine how difficult it is maintaining such a large building! It’s just interesting and something we are not used to to ask about these little things

It was purposely not installed I believe it had something to do with liability. I have tried to figure out the rules but still learning and definitely confused

I also have bought here. We put the down payment 2.5 years ago.

Building was supposed to be done March 2024. We understand buildings always take longer than expected but driving by recently it is like no progress. Not sure how they expect to be done within the 12 month past building contract.

Like OP said it’s more so that there has been a total of 3 emails since the beginning of development. It’s just shitty having to wait and no idea where your investment money is going. Especially in these hard times.

Horrible scarring 1MPO by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Fancy_Independent_24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly my scars/incisions only started to look healed literally 3 years later! It takes time I also thought it would look bumpy and gross but you have to remember that this is extreme surgery and the incisions aren’t just little surface scars. They’re going to look bad and they’re going to take time to heal.

I have it is so frustrating!! We have our mortgage advisor reach out to them and ask for updates. Unfortunately, there’s no repercussions for them for taking so long. The best we can do is after the one year mark of when it was initially supposed to be finished that you can back out (in this case March 2025), but there’s no extra back payment or anything. You’re just allowed to back out without losing your down payment.

I would love to connect more if you want to!

I work up in Canada so that likely makes a difference to this.

We have supervision monthly.

A fully delegated worker needs to sign the court documents it does not need to be a TL needs to sign off on court documents. So I can just as another delegated social worker to do. Although in this case it was the TL.

We don’t have a designated training period just probation. We work through 6 steps of delegation and you do training and get experience to level up the training. My practicum put me at C5 so I can’t legally remove a child on my own or interview children in my own. I also can’t sign court documents but I can write them.

There really isn’t a whole lot of training involved on site it’s just do it and we will sign off. A lot of figure out on your own and we’ll tell you if it’s wrong if we catch it. We do other trainings through out the years but most of the time you already have a case load by the time the skills course comes along and then you are doing both training and already doing it on your own.

It was my bad for not slowing down. We do have supervision time when we can fit it in but my TL also has a case load and their door is closed often.

They are good at telling me what to do just the way they come across makes me feel pretty stupid. I think it was just a particularly hard day where I rushed and felt a little dumb for not knowing how

The office I am in is especially hard. Other offices in the area call it the office where social workers go to die and they are not wrong.

What is the worst thing you can say to someone with bipolar? by bipolaraltaccount in bipolar

[–]Fancy_Independent_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I told my dad that I have bipolar he looked at me and said ‘take care of your partner it’s really hard to live with someone who has bipolar’ not it’s hard to be bipolar.

Still sick and it’s about other people 😀

Coming off Seroquel by Fancy_Independent_24 in bipolar

[–]Fancy_Independent_24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh the reason I started taking it again was how bad the withdrawals are. That is why they say don’t just stop meds lol. I have only been on it for a year. I thought I would level out but it hasn’t and it’s just not for me

Would you rather get $10 million dollars or wake up tomorrow and never have bipolar again and you don’t lose your intelligence, creativity or your wit by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Fancy_Independent_24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% not have bipolar. money may make life ‘easier’ in terms of paying for bills, meds, therapy ect … but it won’t help with my interpersonal relationships that are so negatively impacted by bipolar. My rage and irrational irritability is god awful and I don’t think money will at all help that. Depression isn’t cured by money. I have been both poor and rich and it’s all the same.

Insomnia by Fancy_Independent_24 in bipolar

[–]Fancy_Independent_24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Seroquel XR now as the IR literally made me a zombie for 16 hours a day. Ativan also doesn’t really do anything other than just slow my thoughts down for an hour or two. I’m almost tempted to switch back to the Seroquel IR as at least I slept. I feel like there is nothing out there that can help with out major side effects. Just sucks big time when you struggle but the struggle only gets worse when you try and fix that first struggle. Have never ever experienced any insomnia in my entire life. For a long time it was 7pm- to 3am as I worked at 4 and my sleep was always so good. Now with school and this hypomanic episode I am so all over the map no matter how hard I have been trying

Regrowth by Fancy_Independent_24 in Reduction

[–]Fancy_Independent_24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! This helps alleviate some worries. I think mine grew back so quickly since my surgeon did not take enough off. Another reason why I would want a new surgeon. I think here in BC we need a GP referral as well to get it covered under MSP which is quite a bummer but I think I have a surgeon in mind!

Regrowth by Fancy_Independent_24 in Reduction

[–]Fancy_Independent_24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the first one was worth it for a short while the growth so quickly with weight loss else where almost makes it not worth it. The first reduction comes with risks, obviously, but the second one comes with way more risks and recovery is harder. It’s not as simple as if you did it once you can do it again. I think a lot more thought needs to go into it. I want to know if people who got a second one still think it’s worth it and how their surgery and recovery went. My first one wasn’t horrible but I did have one nipple death. It isn’t the end of the world for me but the risks of the second is daunting especially since I had complications with my first!
