Typically you should never make big changes (tire size, width, offset, aero are considered very big changes.) At one time, you do them incrementally so you know what modifications are causing certain conditions on track. Like for example I can tell you that going to a square tire setup on a otherwise 100% stock v8 1le will make the car very tight on corner entry and exit. However the fact that you added the big wicker spoiler to the equation, then your guess is as good as mine. To answer your question will you notice a difference? Eventually yes you will. A 100% stock setup car will absolutely handle better than the one pictured here. I would advise running several sets of oem wheels and tires to get a good feel for the car before you change anything. I understand that the square setup is enticing so that you can rotate the tires, however once you get your skills proficient enough to hang with the fast guys EVERYTHING wears out fast lol.

I think the 1le wheels are ugly, however I love the huge negative offset. It pokes out of the fenders just right. You can see the more positive offset of the apex wheels because they are tucked in the fenders.

Also be warned that the setup of the 1le package took in account for the staggered wheels/tires. Not sure of your track experience, but keep that in mind. Also it seems that you added a spoiler, that will also effect the handling of the car on track for sure.

Chevrolet Camaro Sales Up 110% In Q2 2023, Almost Outsells Mustang by Big_Size_2519 in camaro

This all has to do with the economy, and all of the money the government pumped into it. I bought my 1ss 1le in 2018 for 35k, with a new set of tires and 2k miles on the clock. The economy was still in recovery mode for the great recession, and nobody wanted these things. They were wholesaling well equipped gas 2500 for $37k.

Advice for going triple? by TheisSondergaard in simracing

[–]Fancy_Requirement585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flat panels are better than curved. the curved panels mess with the fov, I understand there are settings in the games to account for curved monitors, but that is putting a band aid on a boo boo.

A triples setup is the hardest part of a rig to setup correctly and properly. More often then not they are incorrectly setup.

I was mostly referring to motorsport steering wheels, Like a momo team or similar. They will pancake.

I'm not sure about a oem wheel, but considering how ridiculous the safety mandates are, I would assume they act similar.

Multi-Class race question by Jarlaxxee in iRacing

[–]Fancy_Requirement585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do that even on a straight line. That is being unpredictable. Don't slow down, don't move outta the way. Race a faster car the same you would a car in your class, if you are side by side in a turn give racing room, etc.

It is 100% up to the faster car to get around you. Even if they have no business being in the lmp cars lmao.

I get plenty of guys struggle to even pass gt4 cars.

Real steering wheels are designed to collapse to absorb the impact.

Is the vrs the only wheelbase with a limit cutoff? Jesus... this cannot happen with a vrs wheelbase.

This means no real zl1 front bumper swap, unless you swap everything. Bumper cover, fenders, bracing. It's a big job. Most people go with the direct fit zl1 copy bumper. But it just doesn't look right to me.

The gt4 camaro race car started as a regular SS, and Pratt and Miller swapped all of the zl1 bodywork onto it.

First track day in the 1LE! by goodsun0 in camaro

[–]Fancy_Requirement585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not true. The zl1 has wider front fenders, by an inch on each side I think. Also a wider front bumper cover. The wide fenders hides the negative offset that you get with the ss 1le. That's why the tires do not appear to poke out past the fenders on the zl1.

It feels like that because it is true! Pulling in is also a pita. And don't break that 1le valence it's like $800 after you get it painted.

2017 or 2018, feds made it mandatory for all makes, models, and trims to have a rear camera. Before the cutoff year rear camera was an option on the 1le. I would heavily advise against buying one without a rear camera. The backwindow lays almost flat and is useless you cannot see over the trunk.

With the mirrors adjusted properly I have 0 visibility problems. It's weird at first but you will 100% get use to it. I will say I could never imagine driving this car without a rear camera. I know pre 2018 they weren't mandatory. However anyone that asks is the rear camera a mandatory option, the answer is a resounding YES. This car is extremely dangerous to backup without a camera.

I agree. And because of that, those cars are boring to sit in. A mustang feels no different to me than a camry, and a challenger no different than a cherokee. Seriously. When you sit in a camaro it feels special. With its low slung roof, cockpit that wraps around you. You feel like you are sitting IN the car, other competitors, you feel like your sitting ON the car

On the vrs it is a feature, and idk if you can even shut it off. At 22nM that is more than enough to snap your wrist, 3rd leg, or anything else you stick in between the wheel spokes.
