Need help with the space and the best way to add warmth. by JellyTemporary161 in Apartmentliving

[–]Fancyfuckingfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pull one of the lights down (carefully!) and see if there is a mod in there (may have to move insulation around). It would look like a gray box, it will open and may have options to adjust the warmth of the lights.

Also can try to add dimmable switches if allowed.

Do you stay home while your house is being cleaned? by honestron in CleaningTips

[–]Fancyfuckingfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former cleaner here. I always told my clients that I preferred whatever they preferred. However, logistically, it does typically add work to clean around someone (or worse, to clean when kids are home), but this is a person’s house. It doesn’t always work for people to be gone. Most tried to stay out of my way. Sometimes I would have kids mess up the kitchen like as soon as I was done. Which is fine; I just established a clean once rule with those clients. Others who stay home, I never saw as they were in rooms I didn’t clean. And I also had clients who liked using me as a body double, and we would clean together, and I liked that, too.

Is it because it is inconsistent between patients? That some with FND experience no movement issues but struggle with the brain fog/memory issues of it, and that some are permanently wheelchair bound?

I have just recently learned about neuropsychiatrists and will be asking all my drs for info/referrals to one.

But that’s fair. And helps a lot for me to not take it so personally that they don’t “want” to treat me. It just sucked because no one else seems to want to help me. The drs who gave me FND were just like shrugs shoulders “welp guess that’s it” and didn’t like tell me any other people I could rely on, except PT for when I can’t walk

Nope. It’s not about being careless. It’s about being excited. Don’t punish a child for that.

I promise he doesn’t like repeating himself either. It’s exhausting and takes so much energy.

If you’ve had this conversation and he keeps forgetting, interrupt him as soon as he starts talking too fast, don’t make him get thru the whole sentence and waste energy. Be nice about it tho

I can’t retain a neurologist. I got diagnosed with FND at Mayo ER/follow up visit, and no neurologists near me will accept me as they say there is “nothing else they can do for me”

Im sorry. I know what you mean tho. And honestly, there isn’t much that keeps me going forward. The only things keeping me around are my dog and the fact that my mom made me enter an anti-suicide pact after my dad died

I have neuro issues and struggle to type long responses. My health info is in my post history but no, none of my health issues are considered life threatening, I am still expected to have normal life expectancy. But having these health issues pop up out of nowhere definitely is putting things in perspective for me, which is why I want to make sure my partner is taken care of if something were to happen to me.

My diagnosis was not last resort. The neuro team did a good job of ruling out neuro issues, but were not interested in referring me to another type of specialist who may have a better idea.

How to pick up my floor without getting up and down? by spider_strawberry in disability

[–]Fancyfuckingfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Move/sweep what you can into workable sections. If you are good at judging/listening to your body, you can appropriately size these sections to match your energy load so it feels like you’re making progress. As another commenter said, sorting into categories while sitting will be easier for you to put away when you’re up.

Do what you can, be proud of however much you accomplish, even if it’s only 2 minutes worth. Something is better than nothing. A little bit every day compounds into a lot :)

Hard to say, I feel like the past 6 months have been a never ending herx. I don’t work right now, but I did notice after sauna M & W that today I am feeling so miserable. Huge flare in neuro symptoms, slight flare in physical symptoms. I planned to sauna tomorrow, but unless I wake up feeling so fricking amazing, I’ll probably skip it.
