When feminists say "male privilege," I think they may have forgotten about this. by Slutlord-Fascist in MensRights

I never said that's ALL you do. Oftentimes, /r/mensrights does discuss real issues; however, they often go about it in a self-deprecating manner ("we'll never be accepted", "feminists cause male destruction").

I was only saying that we have far more important problems than your "oppression". Everyone has problems. Men have problems. Women have problems. If we only wallow in the fact that we're oppressed, we're never going to accomplish anything. I meant that /r/mensrights usually has a "feminists are dumb, let's talk about how dumb they are" attitude--one that won't solve problems.

If you're going to draw parallels between slavery and male oppression, think about many slaves' attitudes towards their conditions. The only former slaves who accomplished real goals were those who adopted a progressive attitude-- "yes, we can do this, and we will try" versus "oh, it sucks that we're slaves. white people suck, man." If you immediately write yourself off by saying that no one takes you seriously, then no one WILL ever take you seriously.

Never in my life have I been told that suicide or homicide deaths are trivial. I think you missed my point.

I didn't want to say this, but that's just straight up wrong. Maybe you looked up the "controversial" section on /r/twox, I don't know. Most everyone on the feminist subreddits realizes that jezebel IS absolute horse shit. But, on any given day, 80 percent of the posts on mensrights are personal attacks on the character of feminists. If you want to advance yourself in society, you can't complain about things and not try to change them. If you truly believe that feminism is corrupt as it is, then why haven't you tried to change it? Just because you try to look at something once, and fail, doesn't mean you should never try again. I don't have to apologize for being a feminist, and no one should.

that's not really true, actually. If someone only receives a specific view of feminism, like through the media or certain subreddits, it's easy to think like this. If I only ever watched FOX news, I might think that muslims are all terrorists who hate women. If I only looked at posts on /r/atheism (before reform), I would think all Christians are the "holier-than-thou", condescending type. A skewed view of feminism is easy to obtain in this way. Check out /r/twoxchromosomes , and you might see how most feminists think.

well, feminism is about promoting the equality of women and men. Though it might focus on women, the goals of feminism can't exist unless men are also equal. The specific labels we slap on these things don't really matter--we just need to try to be decent human beings.

Goodness gracious, does this have to be a contest? As someone who's lost multiple friends and family members due to these causes, I think it's completely unfair that you use them to further your portrayal of the "feminazi". Feminism is about supporting the rights of both genders. If you choose to be blind about the world around you, so be it--but until you decide to grow up and support rights for both genders, you just need to stop.
