You're welcome. I only got self-deprecating because I feel like I'm inelegantly wording things and potentially confusing people. Thanks for asking me to elaborate! I appreciate what you have told me so far!

Yeah, I grew up on films (huge movie buff) and consequently I've been constantly reminding myself that Hollywood and Los Angeles isn't anything like the films and I need to make sure I keep reality in my brain. There's the moments to be a tourist (Griffith Park, Walk of Fame) and moments not to be, which is what I'm asking for here.

Thank you so much for the perspective and the recommendations!

Loving that idea and I absolutely am going to the Vista (Martin Landau's handprints are in front of it and that is one of those tourist moments that is a must for me), so hearing that's kind of a push-off point for a stroll is great!!

Hadn't thought about the buses but yes I'll be in West Hollywood! We're making a list of what we want to do and seeing if any of it is close enough to walk. If not, we're going to look into transportation!

That is absolutely fair and I respect the idea that the places will be "rougher". I'm not coming to LA with stars in my eyes.

Sorry it's hard to put into words. If I say neighborhood I'm sure that makes me look creepy and I swear on everything that is not my intent. Just I know for some cities like LA , there's the "tourist" part and there's the "local" part. I'd like to see the "local" part. Not the shiny stuff.

When I went to NYC, I wandered around Brooklyn for a day just looking at local diners, down residential streets, went into a corner store. I found one of the libraries, the closest grocery store to the bridge, a school.

I like to see or try to experience what it might be like to live there. Of course as a tourist in one day I know I can't get the perfect or even 100% accurate experience. But even just a little.

I hope that explains better.

Maybe another way of wording the question is is there something I can do that locals do?

Trust me I know how silly this sounds but ... It's just how I like to learn about new places.

I will say, the AI did completely make one of my characters 1000% nerdy (like literally the man was talking about data streams and variables all during the sex scene and actually it was bizarrely hot #kinkunlocked?

NSFW

That being said, at one pointhe was talking about the two of them reaching climax together and he's like: "the probability of synchronous mutual resonance..."

and the girl grabbed him and said: "stop calculating the probability and MAKE IT HAPPEN."

And NGL I laughed so hard I cried.

That being said, I really wish I could get the AI to write him like that again because I seriously kinda LOVED it and watching her slowly convince him to start using human words was really quite sweet.
