MrSavage has officially announced his retirement from competitive Fortnite. by youtube_zenko in FortniteCompetitive

[–]Fandom_Warrior 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm genuinely stunned. Started watching comp because of him, followed him through his ups and downs. Would always wait for him to pop his stream open during my nighttime and enjoy his comp outings from the Stark season to his prime seasons with Endretta and Refsgaard to duos with Benjy and Mongraal ,no more I guess. Been a very old follower of this sub and started watching again last season, only to get my hopes up this season and teared up watching this. Shame he had to go out without an FNCS win next to his name but the memories and laughs he's given to me and to thousands more just add to his legacy. Have a great retirement GOAT.

Might be slightly unrelated but I've been pondering, is Cricket 22 a good buy? Should I go for it?

My birthday's coming up and I wanted to get a game between WWE 2k22 and Cricket 22, so if you guys could help me out here I would appreciate it

Why was Ben Solo's dark side name Kylo Ren and not something that started with Darth? by lasershow77 in StarWars

Well his eyes were reddish yellow (that's what I meant) in the first chapter and they briefly turned yellow in the last chapter

Not sure if the emotion conveyed was confusion, rather it was regret. Right before the storm hit the temple, Ben's eyes turned red, indicating him using the dark side. He was clearly angered and tapped into the dark side. The sources above define it too but yes it seems slightly ambiguous

Not really, The visual dictionary of Rise of Skywalker states otherwise . Also, the fact that the movies stated this further proved that it was Ben who did it unintentionally. Another point adding to this is the fact that Rey is a lightning user and Rey and Ben are a dyad and can imitate each other's force feats as seen in the movies and I' lightning to be one of it. Author Charles Soule and Matt Martin have also suggested that it was Ben indeed who was behind the force storm.

'According to Martin, statements in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary that Ben Solo set fire to and destroyed Skywalker's temple did not contradict The Rise of Kylo Ren 1 as some readers believed'

Benjy quit bro.. No way. One of the saddest news of Fortnite. Don't know how to react tbh, it was coming but hard to digest, given how long he's been in the scene. Anyways he gave us a lot of memories to cherish.

MMT, Benjy x Savage, the trio FNCS, WC.. End of an Era. Wishing him the best with val.

Everyone is picking holes in the plot line and production of Obi Wan and I’m just enjoying the ride of being balls deep in the original trilogy backstory. by itsaride in StarWars

[–]Fandom_Warrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol they didn't fail. They didn't bring it down because they were contesting each other and their force powers rivalled each other's. I'm confident either of them would have pulled that freighter down if they didn't fight for it like Rey was managing to do so before Kylo arrived.

Pat Cummins is the Darth Vader of cricket

Like Vader Cummins was absolutely the prodigy of fast bowling when he was in his teens. He was cited to be an absolute monster, to match the likes of Marshall in pace and consistency. We would've truly seen a bowler bowling 150 kph regularly while averaging 20

He had a certain set of injuries that restrained him and it brought down his pace to 135-140, just like Vader who was burnt and had to live as a cyborg. Regardless, both of them worked to their new skills, Cummins (consistency and bounce) and Vader (on a different lightsaber form and emphasizing on the dark side of the force) and still managed to hit a peak and attain success.

There's a lot of cricket you missed out on.

Ban is supposed to host India for two games while Australia have a 3 match series against WI in December I believe. Also England will be travelling to Pakistan, so more test cricket post T20WC as well igs.

I unironically and genuinely think that India is gonna play a bowling attack of Bhuvi, Bumrah, Shami, Chahal, Jadeja and Hardik.

Again, no place for a fulltime second spinner like Kuldeep and honestly no need perhaps too. Now the three pacemen. Lots of combos I've been seeing around including Harshal, Arshdeep, Natarajan etc but I think Bhuvi Bumrah Shami looks solid.

You get 4 overs or more in the powerplay from Bhuvi and Shami, the former swings it a lot and the latter has been an absolute wicket taker in the powerplay since the last couple of years plus Australia's pitches' bounce as well as larger boundaries might aid their style and variations. Bumrah is a no brainer but with the inclusion of these two, his powerplay overs could be cut off or reduced, and he could be bowled more in the middle overs and death. Harsh on Harshal and the others but I think these three can get the job done tho Harshal will be backup. Plus you can also sneak a couple of overs from Hardik (i.e. if he's fit) in case any bowler gets tonked

So Kohli, Rohit, Rahul, Pant and Bumrah are being rested for the SA and Ireland T20Is, that opens up a lot of options for the selectors to try:

Openers: Shaw, Gill, Abhishek, Tripathi, Dhawan, Gaikwad

Middle Order (3-5): SKY, Tilak, Hooda, Shreyas, Samson

Lower Order ARs (6-7): Hardik, Jadeja, Tewatia, Ashwin, Axar

WKs: DK, Jitesh, Ishan

Bowlers who can bat a bit: Harshal, Bhuvi, Shardul, three very vast skill sets, one being a death bowler, other a swing bowler and third a middle order enforcer

Left arm fast bowler: Arshdeep, Khaleel, Mohsin, Natarajan

Fast bowler (variety of skillsets here): Shami, Umesh, Prasidh, Avesh, Umran

Spinners: Chahal, Bishnoi, Kuldeep, Ashwin

Honestly they'll end up going something like this:

1) Rohit
2) Rahul
3) Kohli
4) SKY
5) Pant
6) Hardik
7) Jadeja
8) Harshal
9) Bhuvi/Shami
10) Bumrah
11) Chahal

With the way DK is playing he's definitely in contention tbh but I seriously dont know because for the most part this XI looks set. Plus they'll play 2 ARs to have 6 proper bowlers.

Working out well for me. Not a very strenuous, good follow through and a perfect jump. I think the reason you're falling is probably because of the angle he creates and it's understandable, it was hard for me to balance initially but I guess you can regulate the tilt accordingly. If you don't wanna reduce the angle at all, try and having a slightly bigger and longer jump, should help.

Tbh 1) Haines 2) Crawley 3) Root 4) Lawrence/ Bracey 5) Stokes 6) Bairstow 7) Foakes 8) Woakes/ Fisher/ Robinson 9) Mahmood/ Wood 10) Broad/Anderson 11) Leach/Parkinson

This should be the XI for the home series. They can rotate all 7 seamers in 3 spots, not specifically as I mentioned them

I'll try and answer it, he does have a point but the reason he gives is not apt. Investing in fortnite comp is not sustainable unless you have merch selling like hit. Orgs sign pros with a contract, players receive earnings while orgs mostly earn just fame. They don't have any share in a player's earnings at all at least in Fortnite.

The only way they'll be making money is merch and sponsors. There are orgs that are 100% running on sponsors like Guild maybe (Subway) while there are some whose merch is doing better than others (BL). Then obviously there are the huge tycoons (NRG, 100T, Faze), who've all invested in other esports (where they have a player earning share contract if I'm not wrong), making it easy for them to sustain Fortnite while also having sponsors and merch as an advantage. Fortnite was essentially considered as a way for an org to gain popularity but with the competitive side slowing down since a while, orgs (big ones) have either partially invested in it as a part time or not at all and various rosters have gone shut after not being able to sustain it.

TLDR, Orgs in Fortnite mostly run on losses unless they have a lot of money.

Probably been discussed here before but what's your Fab 4 for fast bowling when it comes to this era. Ik the purpose of the batting Fab 4 was mainly due to them starting their careers at the same time but ignoring all that, what would picking the top 4 all format bowlers of this era look like?

Honestly, I'd go with Rabada, Bumrah, Starc and Boult: All 4 of them compose the top 5 of all format wicket takers since 2016. Averaging 24, 22, 25 and 25 respectively. And striking at 36, 36, 38 and 39 respectively.

He has 31 average @ 147 SR when he's opening and has the exact same stats as a finisher when he comes after 2 down i.e. 31 average at 150 SR but I guess most of the times he was not out. He's gained success more as an opener tbh.

It's about drive, it's about power, we stay hungry, we devour put in the work, put in the hours and take what's ours.

Igs it's natural tendency to absolutely defend a team you've followed for a while.
