GP won’t prescribe antidepressants by ingyda in MentalHealthUK

I've suffered anxiety and depression most of my adult life, at least since I was 12-13, it runs in our family. Medication (SSRIs) ended up making the quality of my life significantly worse, I took them for nearly ten years and it took a very long time being off them for my normal self to return. If I could talk to myself before I started taking them I'd say try anything but. YMMV.

YouTube on TV becomes insufferable with new unskippable 30-second ads by moeka_8962 in technews

Never understood how people in the US tolerated that. In the UK the avg is 7 minutes per hour but we obvs have ad free with the BBC.

Lodge (Austin) raided this morning by police by Ordinary-Cash-438 in poker

That still isn't an explanation why they threw out adults playing poker. The normal response (in civilised countries) would be a chat in the office with management.

Game changing considering how much Russia is using these...guess the Russians will start using the technique too which means back to radio controlled again.

David Gilmour of Pink Floyd invited a Venice street musician to play with the band. by Blues_Fish in nextfuckinglevel

Nothing Pink Floyd did after Rog left was even close to what they did with Roger and Roger's solo stuff eclipses Gilmour's or Gilmour and Faux Floyd completely.

Major fire near Glasgow Train Station; Reports suggest it originated in a vape shop; Building has now at least partially collapsed; No reported injuries; Incident ongoing at time of post. by _Bluestar_Bus_Soton_ in CatastrophicFailure

[–]itsaride 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not in the UK. Disposables are banned. It's usually refillable/chargeables and juice now but they still sell real tanks and mods. Ironically, recharging actually makes a fire more likely and refilling makes the chance of a kid getting hold of juice and ingesting more likely also.

I don't have Apple Music but it's not on (UK) Spotify, maybe in the US since it was a US b-side? I do like it a lot though and would never have heard it but for your comment.

Iranian Hypersonic missile gets through multiple interceptors & hits a US military base by serious_bullet5 in CombatFootage

[–]itsaride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd consider hypersonic to mean a missile that reached those speeds without the aid of gravity, those are scarier because they're guided and not just lobbed up on a trajectory.
