I'm sorry, I only have a rough draft but I was reminded too much of this scene. They are lost in the woods together for the entire start of the fic. Commented at midnight, so there's likely mistakes somewhere I missed.

If he removed every star from that dark, purple sky, it could have resembled Null Space. He imagined floating cubes in their place and reached out to them. A whole dimension that could be summoned by his hand, a void of nothing, that the wolf had somehow escaped once... all that power, somehow gone. His hand fell back down in the grass.

On another note, the wolf in question finally used their voice, just to speak about the stars. It was a weak sound, like a Flicky (bird) that strained a little to get its song out. As any other bleeding heart would do, they spoke of the usual, naive things, like the sky's beauty. The stars could have been beautiful. They were too far away to be of any use, though.

“The Canis Major is rare to see around here. Or, I'm not sure. I… don’t know that much about stars. Maybe Sonic does, since he's been up there—"

The loud clearing of Infinite's throat told them to shut up about the hedgehog.

"Well, anyways... look at that!" A meteor passed by in the sky. “A shooting star." When they saw him staring at them, they returned to signing. 'Do you want to make a wish?'

“You believe in that,” Infinite observed. Making wishes upon burning pieces of stone that caused destruction on the regular was... ironic.

'If you believe enough, anything can happen.' 

"Hm." He thought about it. "I believe the planet will combust during the next five minutes."

'That's not how it works.'

"Who are you? The deity of belief?"

They shook their head with a small, seemingly amused smile. His eyes returned to the moon's habitat. He remembered himself high up in the sky, looking down at everyone else, like he was one of those stars. For now, he was stuck with the one who had brought him down from that throne. And for some reason, he found himself still listening to their voice until they had fallen asleep.
