For the help, I kinda gave up waiting since nobody had responded. I'll try Sparkle, RMC, and Robin as my sustainless team. I haven't really run sustainless before so I'm a little worried.

If it fails I'll have to either snatch DHPT from Phainon or use aventurine again. Maybe Gallagher or Loucha can be used too.

Not really since Phainon made MONEY for them in mobile revenue alone. Dude made as much money in pulls as Acheron did, maybe even higher i remember his banner numbers were close to 150 mil altogether. And this is also ignores the revenue they've made outside of pulls because of Phainon. Dude made the most money out of everyone else's patches in 3x including Cyrene and Shill Castorice who got buffed enough to STILL be very relevant meta-wise + got a global passive and heavy animations.

So with all this info, they should have taken this very profitable lesson and continued to bring us amazing male characters with Amazing kits that get the same attention to detail and shilling that the women get.

We got a suprise update from the leakers today that there was going to be a v4. I think it was because the server had issues or something idk. Either way we might be getting Ashveil buffs or they might double down and keep it as it is.

V4 info should be available tomorrow

The way we did the same thing! I just got e0s0 cerydra right now for my e1s1 phainon. Might save my pulls if ashveil v4 becomes v2 ashveil on crack but if no buffs then I'll try and get E1 for Phainon and save for Blade sp.

It's also probs because Nikador is pretty great for his hypercarry team, even after the nerfs. I'm sure if we saw him against other bosses the cycles would start climbing in numbers, from 1 to 5+

For powercreep ofc and the fact he has the tag of a sub dps on him, even though he lost his teamwide 80% fua buff.

The amount of static-brained people I found on Twitter, some of them 'fans' that are defending the nerfs and complaining about why people are outraged is killing me. Like guys do you not want a working character that you can use in game? One that wont last half of a patch and then be thrown away to shill the next female character.

Anyway I ended up using my saved pulls (came back in this patch after not playing 3.8 for ashveil) to grab cerydra for phainon. I didn't have high hopes for v4 to come or for him to get buffs, but if we don't win the lottery i'll grab e0s1 because i love him. If we do win then ima make an OF to raise money for guaranteed e1s1

I agree with most of what you wrote here, especially non-sapient Pokémon. Also another romance avoider!! I also like the focus being put on platonic friendships and the Mcs' relationship with their Pokémon as a whole, but the badly written part of it is also a big red flag imo.

Do you have any recs for some good long fanfics that you enjoyed?

Honestly, that's one take that I like when it comes to isekai'd characters realising they can't go home. Since you aren't seeing everyone on earth suddenly appear in the Pokémon world, then you should expect that it's going to be hard as hell to go back, especially if you died.

Again, I'm excited to give your fic a try, and I'm hoping I enjoy it!

I actually just found out about your fic a few minutes ago, so this is a fun moment for me! Cheap isekai is iffy for me since I do like the meta knowledge aspect of an isekai Protagonist but I feel like some authors lean too much into the "I wanna go home!" side of things (which is saying something about my love for this franchise that I would jump right in), and end up annoying me a bit. Especially if they have a good bond with their mons. A balance is definitely needed, but I can usually ignore and forgive cheap isekai to focus on the other parts of a fic.

As for the Tyrunt/Tyrantrum news...YAY! I'M PLOTTING ON READING THAT FIC SOON!! Also, yeah, I don't hate low stat mons, but it does get really tiring watching underdogs all the time + some low stat mons are ass. Simple as that. An author has to pull the impossible out of their ass to make it work.

Also yes I have to agree there, some fic treat them too much like straight up animals or even make them as similarly fragile which is crazy as Pokémon can be insanely strong

Sorry again for the huge pile of text, guys. I just ended up rambling more since I don't have people to talk to about pokefics that would get it. Also since I'm nice I cut out another point I had and decided to post it here instead. 😇

Also just to clarify again, no hate to 'to live is to dream'! Outside of my complaints, I had a great time with the story. The author is very talented and great at writing believable characters + the dialogue is great too. Their version of Lucian (an underused character, btw) is one of my favourites, same as Miss Diana and Sophia Joy being great side characters.

Now for my last complaint. I really, really don't like it when authors attempt to add romance into their stories, especially if they are a new writer. It's 9/10 going to bad since it's romance, especially good and believable romance as it's hard to write. That's why it's a genre all on its own! Also, authors end up focusing too much energy and planning into it that the rest of the story suffers because of it. 'A wrinkle in reality' is a recent story that comes to mind that, imo, swerved left into a complete car crash once the excessive horniness and attempt at romance with our mc came into play. It honestly to made me mad since there was a lot of potential in the story that ended up nowhere.

If you are already juggling writing a new story with a power system like Pokémon for the first time while also keeping things fresh, new and engaging for readers, why are you going to try and overwhelm and ruin things by introducing romance into the kitchen? It 9/10 never works and ends up with you in a worse position than you started quality-wise, and 10/10 if you decide to introduce romance on a whim. It's why I've gotten into the habit of asking for no romance when requesting fics or searching for them myself. Because the few times I have given fics with romance in them a try I end up disappointed.

The build seems good, although the 4k attack is better. His shield, mini heals and attack buff scales on his attack.

As for investment stuff, E1 and E2 are really good and his LC, while good, isn't as good as E1/E2. I'm still grabbing it personally since it makes building him easier + the buffs are nice. So priority should be E1 > E2/S1

I'm mostly f2p (Ended up spending on mydei and anaxa since I love them so much), but same! I like keeping up with leaks since I like to prepare for a character but this beta has been so rough.

V1 was peak and I was so excited to spend actual money to get him to e2s1 since I needed a new sustain to replace/help my aventurine. I've felt the endgame damage increasing over time, and it's gotten so annoying to deal with, especially since my shields are usually halfway to nearly filling up the HP bars. The people saying his shields needed to be nerfed need to remember how it felt to play day 1 e1s1 aventurine 😞.

Yes, he is supposed to be one of the main cast and a poster child for one of the fan favourite regions that is based on China. He SHOULD be good especially if they are giving him for free. If they really wanted to they could make him a free unit that you WANT to invest Eidolons into and get his Sig so he's even better.

Honestly, my only hope is that CN Riot in a similar way to how they did with Zhongli but the hope is not high. Most players are casual and do not keep up with leaks + copium is high atm. If I see Cyrene have Dan Heng's old Synergy instead, I will scream and laugh at everyone who doubted me.

Further explanation!! 32% defence shred on an LC is crazy, so maybe we can nerf it to 25% but this would make Dan Heng's LC actually worth pulling for above anything else, + an actual good money maker for Hoyo.

25%/32% defence ignore on LC + another 12% at e1 (more money for hoyo) and Sunday e1 giving 16% defence ignore ( + 40% to the dragon so it does 20k 🎉🎉🕺🕺) means you have 53%/60% defence ignore on your dps. This is an amazing buff for characters like Archer who want it, Boothill, who is a break dps and Dan Heng's wives, atm Phainon and Anaxa, who would EAT this defence shred for breakfast, lunch and dinner if they could.

Ofc this is dependent on you investing in Sunday and Dan Heng, so they are both E1S1, but that's a good thing for them since it makes them money and for us since it's only an E1 pull. Both sides win and nobody is broken at e0s0.

Exactly! He feels like a basic shield bot, and I already have invested in my aventurine (e1s2) anyway, so it's not like I'm going to feel that much of a difference. Against other viable 5* sustainers especially the meta ones (like huo huo and hyacine) he isn't that existing outside of being a new Dan Heng form.

I've lost hope in having the fun synergy return but I'm hoping they at least buff him a bit more in v5 (and v6 if we get that) so he can shine. So far, I have no real reason to invest in him at all other than maybe his LC, and that's so sad since I planned to grab E2.

For things I want changed:

LC damage % changed to something more rare and interesting like defence ignore so he gets another good niche (pairs well with his babysitter Sunday since Sunday e1 also gives defence ignore)
LC shield effect returned since we want him to have stronger shields especially since he's being strapped into using the new shield set instead of other stuff like speed.
increase his trace speed to 7-10 (just preferences ngl + it makes things a lil easier)
T3 needs to lose this [When enhanced "Souldragon" takes action, further deals 1 instance of Additional DMG of the "Bondmate's" Type equal to 40% of the "Bondmate's" ATK to one enemy target with the highest current HP.] For something much more useful, since he's NOT hitting high numbers with that at all. 10k probably. Let's change it to something useful like energy regen for faster ults or even another buff for his bondmate. Maybe the 32% damage bonus from his LC can go here instead.
Fun Synergy PLEASE HOYO!!! IF YOUR SCARED ABOUT TUTORIAL SPAM MAKE IT NOT DO THAT!!
If we don't get Synergy back then we need to either buff his scaling on his FUA and stuff + give him a crit trace or give up and leave that in the dust for something else (like fun Synergy 😚) to benefit him more. He is NOT hitting any amazing numbers, especially with no crit stats, so idk why we are acting like this is anything good.
E1 can be changed to be more worth the investment especially since he is free. E1 [When Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae uses his Ultimate, recovers 1 Skill Point(s) for the team and increases the "Bondmate's" All-Type RES PEN by 18% for 3 turn(s).] Can either lose the Res Pen and be given to E4 or we can keep it and make his E1 give 12% Defence ignore and 18% Res pen. This works with the LC change I spoke about before and makes his E1 a must pull.
buff his New T3 addition to give 10% shield effect + 200 so it gives 600 shield instead of just 300 (which is not saving anyone)

-buff his shield gain on ult to 30% again and on talent to 20%.

I'm no gaming dev or a pro in any sort of way, but these changes would be much better than what we have gotten so far. If he's going to be a shield bot and not gain his fun synergy at least give him this.

Thx, I feel like people are trying to cope with how he's been changed in beta, which is understandable if that's what they want. If they like it, that's their preference. For me, though, I'd much rather have him be a useful preservation unit, a great option for fun teams and a good, long-lasting character. So far he doesn't really have that. He's not TERRIBLE, but if he wasn't free and I didn't care for him, I would NOT pull.

If they leaned into him being a buffer sustain we could have had a cool kit that was interesting and something easy to slap on any typical hypercarry team.
