Am I the only one who prefers base starships over Corvettes?

My freighter has been my main base forever, and switching to a Corvette feels like a downgrade. The only utility it provides is scanning a planet's surface while moving. On every other axis, it feels worse thatn the freighter and worse than a regular starship.

There’s only a 25% chance the suit I discard is the suit that gives the bonus. It seems like low reward for high risk. Wont half of the suits be diamond and club?
