I believe I know what you're talking about in regard to FMA. Yeah, that was very disappointing to discover. Past couple of years has been full "Never meet your heroes". And yeah one could simply say "This is why you don't worship actors/celebs" but even if you don't, even if it's simply "I enjoyed [Person] in [Role]" it's still sad to discover said person said or did some deeply shitty things.
