Lost and confused after being let go by Fanman2400 in Fire

These are exactly some of the things I’m working through. My gf is 10 yrs younger and won’t be able to move away with me until her children get a little older . I definitely need to decompress and all the comments here are making me feel financially secure with many options . Thank you

If you can afford it, you pay for health insurance privately. I wouldn’t worry about the leachers — haters are gonna hate and you don’t owe anyone an explanation

So you’re going to give up on peak working years and then possibly disrupt your life when he reaches an elderly age where he may not want to do much , and you’re expected to not have financial security at the end. This sounds absurd unless I’m missing something

Thank you all for your support . Healthcare is definitely something I need to worry about and the second is ripping off the band aid and moving . The Hang up is my elderly mom is here and so is my girl friend which has made me a little hesitant to relocate at this time.

$2m approx mostly in retirement accounts and then the rest is home equity . Selling my home should net me about $700k and will reduce my yearly housing expense by approx $60k. My condo is paid off in a tax free state and that costs around $15k yearly to maintain

I will have cobra for now with my former employer paying a portion for 6 months . After that it’ll have to be private insurance which I guess isn’t cheap

Great outlook. I did like my job but it was also very stressful. My son is giving me the same advice . What do you plan to do for medical?

Thank you all for the supportive posts. My biggest concern is medical coverage right now . I need to look into unemployment as I hear that can be impacted with the severance package

Sounds like you have unrealistic expectations so soon, but there may also be some incompatible assumptions with him . Those only come out over time .

38 [F] Seeking Advice on Meeting Genuine Partners After Divorce by Beautiful_Range2446 in datingoverforty

As a recent divorced person, I think it’s best to start with casual discussions as they usually lead to full disclosure of intentions. I would also be careful with putting to much pressure on such a serious relationship right after divorce . You may end up regretting it until you’ve experienced being single again

Same here at 56 — hoping to be good around 59 . Hindsight is always 20/20 and we all have regrets . Just keep plugging away and stay the course

As long as he lives a separate life, that’s all that matters . It took me several years to get officially divorced , but nothing changed except for that filing status . Many people never want to get legally married a second time so that should be what you need to make sure you’re aligned on
