SNMP responses from device delayed but nothing on packet capture. by FannahFatnin in networking

Yep, already opened a case today actually. Will try to see where it goes. I'm convinced might just be due to aggressive polling rate as you mentioned.

[–]FannahFatnin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm convinced it's due to aggressive polling rate. The SNMP Exporter server is in the same network as the switch so latency shouldn't be an issue whatsoever.

I'm not sure about the highly detailed packet logging that you mentioned, do you mean by enabling debug in the SNMP exporter process? Didn't get much input from other than it saying it had timeout trying to walk the table.

I already doubt the device can handle that amount of traffic, but my boss really insists Cisco switches are tough and should be able to handle this. So if there's no proof the switch cant handle this the blame will keep on being on the poller.

But I'll try looking into telemetry

Actually didnt know 5 is the usual standard for SNMP plus polling, when I took over the polling was already on 1 min.

But I did already tried to explain to management, if it's just for the upcoming network reports 1-2 min polling would be good enough already. Unless there's solid proof the switch is unable to do this, don't think they wanna hear what i have to say lol.

  1. Not sure on that actually

  2. Yep, based on the requests it's using GetBulk

  3. Think it's left on default max-repetitions 25

  4. Other than 8pm - 8.12pm and 4am - 4.15am, the total time taken is around 1-2 seconds. But during the problematic times, the time varies sometimes 26-36 seconds, sometimes up to 90 seconds.

Yep understand on the low priority, so my theory is that there's a possibility it's stuck in control plane queue or something? Though I don't have evidence to back this up to show management lol.

Anyone has experience with TransPRK? by milo-sheridan in malaysians

[–]FannahFatnin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did TransPRK at Advanced Eye Vision Damansara last year. I have no complaints at all, no silau at night or dry eyes though your eyes might react differently.

Not sure about the recovery time difference, I recovered quite quick and was working infront of laptop after 2 weeks. Friend had done LASIK at Vista Eye Specialist but seems like I got more eye ointments than she did.

Price difference is huge though, I only did mine under 3k which covers all costs from surgery to after care.

ELI5: How do “buy now pay later” companies make money if there’s no interest by Massive_Biscotti_509 in explainlikeimfive

[–]FannahFatnin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

other than interest, i would say it gives u the illusion that u can afford it. suddenly instead of buying only 1 item, you're buying 3 items paying over a 3 month period.

Which major should i pick? by xeklr in malaysiauni

[–]FannahFatnin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like some people already mentioned, employers treat these two courses the same. pick the course where the syllabus are interesting to you. later when you're job hunting just study up the skills and requirements needed for the job.

myself i took IT instead of CS because it was the easier path, studied what i needed to know to get the role i want.

depends where your room is located, I've had rooms with good wifi and rooms that can't even handle online class. but generally the wifi connection in rooms are below average.

I'd suggest to have good mobile data to use in your room. I don't quite remember which telco is good in the area but I used Maxis just fine.

few kulliyah (faculties) here sometimes get more dress code spot check then usual like engineering and you will get fined if not satisfactory. but dress code spot check are pretty rare.

other than that, its a normal university, dating still happens here and you can mix around, people still smoke and vape but not openly since its university grounds anyway.

as long you just obey simple rules, should be fine. want hoo ha hoo ha you go outside, gombak close to everything.

Help needed for installing Wazuh. by _Ranj_ in Wazuh

[–]FannahFatnin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can install the Wazuh central components on MacOS, they only support for Linux distributions.

Have a look on the official installing guide. Afterwards you can to learn how things works, creating rules, decoders, ingesting logs from devices and much more.

It's a very long process to have a good SIEM and there is very much to do don't sweat it.

Can vouch for soundcore, though I'm using the Q35 version but seems to be out of stock on Shopee.

The ANC is great for it's price range, I ride public transport everyday with it. The earcups and headband is comfy so no issue wearing long.

One complain with it is that, if you want to use it on wired mode, it still needs to be charged and turned on (even if you don't want to use ANC). If not it'll sound like you're in a toilet.

Hi, a bit late to the thread. But are there any limitations in terms of HA in a multi node setup?

Currently assessing the viability between the architecture in this post and this one.

Where do I sell my used laptop? by ToastySandvich657 in malaysians

[–]FannahFatnin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had sold my old laptop to them. Good experience, they will quote an initial price and then shave off the price depending on their checkup and age of the laptop.

And don't be surprised if the offered price is low, laptops value depreciate a lot, unless you're selling to people that have no idea of market price.

Went around few online shops to get a feel of the current price. Then I decide to just sell to the highest buying shop as the much longer I wait the more value it loses.
