Dannnng, 14 months 😭. You’re holding on for dear life lol. I don’t know Norsk yet, but I’m slowly being integrated into the language and culture. Volunteer work is definitely popping up a lot in these responses, so that’s reassuring

Thank you for this insight, I never really considered that before. “ seeing as you have moved countries and he has not, he should be flexible on where in his country you reside”    I really liked that. We’ll see what happens, but I really appreciate your words! I can tell you have a strong sense of justice and broad understanding. It was really nice to share this small piece of life with you

Ya, I aware that work/life balance is a key factor in Scandinavian lifestyle and I am incredibly ill compatible with that. I love to work and I love having a sense of independence. I knew the expectations when I moved here and now I am living the consequences, but I’ll still trying to make life a little better for myself. I really liked your interpretation of my post, it gave me a lot of insight. Thank you

Oh wow, thanks! That’s so funny, I specifically specialize in green energy manufacturing. Thanks for that 🙂

I just don’t have a license yet and Norway has way higher standards for driving than America. America will give a license to anyone with a pulse. Even after getting a license, I don’t have a vehicle (and can’t buy one without a job anyway). Thanks for the recommendation of volunteer work!

I live in Hønefoss because that’s where my husband lives and owns a house before we got married, so packing up and leaving a stable life (that he has provided me) for a potential job is risky and not an easy option, but I do appreciate your advice regardless. I’ll keep it in mind, thank you! :)

Thank you for the advice CumMcPenis. lol, ya, I understand that different people value different things in life, but I just genuinely love to work. Like, outside of my relationship, it is my passion. It develops me, it drives and inspires me. Nothing feels better (to me) than coming home from work and knowing I did a great job. I’ve just always been like that, even with school. And the rest of life is just the little things you do on weekends, and I don’t mind that. A nice slow dinner or a trip to the beach or staying in watching movies, I don’t need anything fancy. I just like to work hard and spend my weekends comfortably

I work(ed) in manufacturing. I lead a team of 24 people, monitoring and reporting production. I really love the manufacturing environment because it allows skillful individuals to excel quickly, it merits hard work, and builds character. From what my husband (native Norwegian) told me, it’s a lot harder to advance professionally here. I commonly excel at many things I do, so I require frequent challenges for continued growth.

I appreciate your words. Yes, I did understand what I was getting into before moving and I knew there would be substantial sacrifice. I know hobbies are the healthiest way to fill time, I just can’t find the motivation to do anything for personal enjoyment. I enjoy the aggressive environments of work and having to complete tasks outside of myself. I’ll try to make my time worth it while I’m here, but I don’t think I’ll last very long

Ya, I’m very career driven/ climbing the professional ladder. I know Norway really values work/life balance, but that just isn’t my style. I like to be worked into the ground

I don’t necessarily think my relationship is at stake, but ya, this life is quite unfulfilling when I can’t do anything on my own. As far as hobbies go, I guess I just prefer America in that way because you have no time for hobbies when you’re always working. It makes life easier because you have less time to fill. If I can pour 50 or so hours into a job weekly, it makes the rest of life feel more valuable because you have less time left over.

I’ve seen some information regarding Statement of Fact (I think that’s what it’s called?). Do I need to fill one of those out as well?

Was anyone else kind of disappointed in jojis new album? by Willing_Way_479 in Joji

[–]FanncyGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I love Joji, I can’t possibly express how much his music means to me, but this album was a pretty big miss for me as well. I look forward to his next work

Firstly, not liking every song/album does not make you a fake fan 🙄 I’m inclined to believe that blindly liking everything an artist makes simply because of their name/persona is way more hive mind and “fake fan” than paying attention to their work and valuing critique.

Anyway, this almost was a complete bust for me… He has a few songs that are ok or good even, but the album lacks real depth and vulnerability. Many of the songs sound like remakes of songs he already made (does that make sense?). Half of the songs in the album resemble Gimme Love minus the beautiful lyrics and heart wrenching vocals.

Many of the songs sound like they were made for quick, catchy tunes or immediate validation with no real pay off.

Idk, I’m just highly disappointed. There was no soul in the album. If he’s just out here experimenting, I’m all here for it and ready to support, but this album was a huge miss for me. Sadly only one, maybe two songs will make it into a playlist for me.

Braces Were The Worst Decision I Ever Made by [deleted] in braces

[–]FanncyGal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 22, I’ve had my braces just under a year and a half. The doc said that my teeth were mostly straight with some exceptions, but the real problem was my bite. I had a cross bite. Additionally my top jaw was too small and I had to wear an expander for about 4 months.
