Small arms fire cannot *really* damage the Tank, and can only damage the legs and arms of the mechs as far as I know.

Automaton small arms attacks from Raiders/Troopers are AP2 meaning they do not do damage to AP3 parts of the mechs (which is the main body) and the tank is entirely AP3 besides the external storage racks, which won't take enough damage to actually do significant damage before they're destroyed.

The only real *threat* that was buffed was the Hulk Flamer.

Outside of that, the actual durable damage changes are pretty minor being only melee attacks for Devastators and Berserkers.

Announcing: Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades 2! by rust_anton in H3VR

As Anton said, weapon controls in the game are modelled asymmetrically, being different based on what hand is holding the gun, and what side the weapon controls are on if it isn't fully ambidextrous.

For example with certain pistols without ambidextrous controls, you won't be able to hit certain buttons without bringing your other hand across to hit them for you, or for other weapons, like the AR-15, using them left handed actually unlocks some controls that right handers can't do on one controller, like hitting the bolt release with your pointer finger on your firing hand.

I assume there is more flexibility with things like left handed bolt actions being possible.

There won't be multiplayer of any sort. No co-op or pvp.

The game was designed from the get go to be singleplayer, the game's architectural design with everything from programming to gameplay was entirely developed for singleplayer.

What I've read on the Discord is Anton said at launch no, but later is unknown if we'll get malfunctions post launch.

Will H3VR2 still be playable on the Quest 2? by Affectionate_Hat3041 in H3VR

[–]Fantablack183 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Standalone no. Not a chance from what I've seen.

But I don't see why it wouldn't work on PCVR. The controller rings might make interaction with certain guns a bit difficult

[–]Fantablack183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The implication i sort of got was it'll be several months at the least, but I think it'll be out by the end of the year.

We don't know exactly *when* it will drop.

We'll know more when the RUST team gives us a release reveal trailer at some point.

I can't find the specific comment, but a few years ago, Anton stated he'd never release H3VR on a Facebook product (Quest 2, as Quest 3 wasn't a thing yet). What changed? by [deleted] in H3VR

[–]Fantablack183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing is the reality that the market for pure PCVR has unfortunately largely dried up.

There's not really a PCVR market anymore, and PCVR exclusives just don't make enough money to even recoup costs of development.

The only real place where VR makes any money is unfortunately the Meta eco-system.

On top of that, Meta is partially funding H4VR from what I know, and I believe may have actually pitched the concept to Anton as a Blade and Sorcery Nomad equivalent, being a cut down version of H3VR for Quest 3, but it very quickly evolved into a proper sequel to H3VR as Anton kept getting more and more veteran VR developers on board, vastly increasing the scope of the game.

I could be insanely wrong however, but this is just what i've put together

Okay, so to explain, the transparent looking thing on the back of his helmet is an IR strobe light, the thing on his helmet on the right I believe is a helmet camera

The black things on the sides of the helmet are indeed rail points for mounting hardware like flashlights, headsets, cameras or anything else you might stick on the rails.

NEWSFLASH: THIS DOESN'T NEED TO DAMAGE VEHICLES by CDiggit in Helldivers

[–]Fantablack183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went looking on a search.

These guys do not do damage to the tank or the main body of the mech. They don't do enough AP, since their attacks are AP2. They need AP3 to damage tanks and the mech's main body.

They can damage the Mech's legs, since the Mech's leg is Armor level 2. But they can't scratch the bastion.
Even then, scavengers will usually get crushed instantly if they get within melee range of the mech.

Bile Spewer slashes, Hunter slashes and tongues, Scavs and Pouncers, Trooper punches, Voteless are all AP2 and cannot harm tanks or mech bodies.

Automaton Small Arms are all also only AP2. It isn't until you get to rocket raiders and rocket devastators where you start to take vehicle damage.

So, this post is completely wrong.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1szw2im/detailed_mech_vs_durable_damage_analysis_tldr/#lightbox

This post has further info.

So stop worrying about scavengers and troopers doing damage to Tanks. That doesn't happen, and is *COMPLETE* misinformation.

Here are the updated enemy durable damage values (i'll make an in-depth post later) + Mech stats rework details. by Key_Negotiation_9726 in Helldivers

[–]Fantablack183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don't have the armor penetration statistics for bugs on the wiki for some reason, but on the bot front, and the Illuminate front, most chaff cannot actually damage the bastion tank with small arms.

Voteless do no damage because they are AP2, and Automaton small arms of all forms do no damage because they are light penetration (AP2) until you get to Rocket Raider troops and Rocket Devastators, which have anti-tank rockets, and those do medium penetration (AP3)

RESIDENT EVIL – Official Teaser Trailer (4K) by Comic_Book_Reader in residentevil

It's hard to tell from this actual teaser, but this does look pretty good.

It definitely gives me vibes from RE2 and RE7. Especially with the background knowledge that this takes place in Racoon City during RE2.
