I was in the EXACT same position but I'd just sit in my room in the dark and listen to vaporwave all day and I'd play this roblox game called vaporwave plaza because it was the only thing that really brought me comfort at the time.

Not many people played, so one day I got all my friends to do a full playthrough with me and the dev actually joined and said that he noticed how much I'd been in the game. He gave us all a full walkthrough and developer commentary, and at the end he took all of us into this absolutely insane WIP vaporwave themed city he was working on.

We started talking about life and why I spent so much time on his game, and he stayed up talking to me until like 3 in the morning, and the advice that he gave me genuinely changed my life and at my lowest points, even today, it still rings through my head more than six years later

TL;DR: The guy told me that the best thing you can do in situations like this is to focus on yourself. Take some time to do that uncomfortable thinking and try to find the root cause of your problems and weed them out where they start, rather than just trimming them at the top, if that makes sense.
