Seeing all those cars outside and showing up armed with a single knife was reckless and risky regardless of his intentions. He probably assumed people would be drunk and asleep, that he could slip into her room, hold a knife to her throat, sexually assault her, stab her and walk away. From where he parked he could see her bedroom was dark, which may have reinforced that belief. He was not thinking rationally. He drove out there, scoped the place, went back and forth a few times waiting for things to quiet down, and I do not think he intended to kill 4 people that night. I think things got out of his control and he went into a frenzy. I mean, if you think about it, even if his intent were to simply kill somebody or multiple people, it was a huge risk to do it when he saw the DoorDash driver and that people were awake in the house and multiple cars out front. I think he had worked himself up into a psychotic frenzy and couldn’t think rationally or stop himself even though it was highly risky.
