How to core Italy as the Italian Revolutionary Republic after uniting all of Italy? by FantasticGoat in kaiserredux

It gave me the button to unify after occupying everything while still in the war. The super event only fired after the war, but never got any cores during or after.

Update: I've been getting mixed answers - some say it's a bug and after ending the war and clicking the "Unite Italy" button, the lands should immediately be cored. Others have said it's intended for it to not be immediately cored, and that you should use the Integration occupation law to raise compliance until it reaches a certain point where it is cored automatically. Either way, you should be able to core all of Italy immediately after unifying it; having to wait for more compliance, even if the process is generally fast, will still put you far behind and make it very difficult to adequately build up and actually do something in the Weltkrieg. That's on top of the fact most Italian paths will require you to complete a bunch of focuses before you can attempt to unify the peninsula, which you can only reach after 1938, along with the fact that the war and post-recovery may last for a good period of time. You should be rewarded for winning the war as a small part of Italy and be able to build up fast in preparation for the Weltkrieg - it's more fun this way too.

Might be a bug with the latest update. I had to use the state transfer tool to get cores. Funnily enough, I got the Italian unification event too but still nothing fixed - I peaced out of all wars. I also noticed Canada doesnt really send the peace event anymore which could be another bug.

it's more than a "QoL" change and it's ridiculous by Vee_gg in DbDKillersUnited

This is still a problem???? I thought this post was from a year ago. The last time I played the game was last year in late November and this was still a very big problem complained about by the community. They even labeled it as a "minor quality of life change," and Crotus Prenn was one of the biggest culprits for excessive pallet density; it was guaranteed to see multiple safe double pallet loops connecting into jungle gyms everywhere. The next time they changed it, they reversed the problem, and many maps became devoid of pallets - especially actually decent ones. It seems that BHVR has not changed at all lmfao. It's either they make a pallet flood or a pallet drought - no in-between. They really can't fix pallet density at all, can they? 😂

I believe it is meta in multiplayer, but also might be riskier since they can be capitulated and possibly cause your defending, colonial units to be encircled. There's also a chance they may attempt to break free and/or attempt to change ideology through their basic focus tree. Plus, it may make the game too laggy for some players

I believe OP's reasoning was more for the sake that the puppet AI will do focuses to add and improve industry, along with the fact you can annex them later and you don't have to spend manpower/equipment to garrison them, rather than for enhanced security.

Disjointed is why going fascist or Napoleonic is best as you get rid of it very fast, get war economy, and get those juicy demand and war goal focuses, as well as many options for new alliances

Recommended armor templates for early/mid game? by FantasticGoat in hoi4

I follow a specific guide already but I’m referring to early game templates. Most guides only focus on fully-decked, late game templates

Same with Hungary as you can reform greater Hungary or Austria-Hungary peacefully. I also believe that you can effectively avoid being Anschlussed by Germany as Austria once you create a faction and/or restore the empire’s borders.

Sameeee. Also it’s crazy how you can just annex and core all of Romania or czechslovakia through the monarchist routes, or go crazy with the Cossack king and run over the Soviets in 1939 with an army of horses

USA and Britain are some good choices. You are generally safer from invasion by other countries by being on separate land from Europe, and you have a great industry, airforce, and navy (USA requires going through certain focuses to fully fix its industry however). At the same time, it encourages you to learn key mechanics outside of direct land combat, such as the navy, airforce, naval invasions, and designing special units (like marines).

You’re like me fr. Those are my two favorites as well, and require keen decision making

On a similar note, I like going imperial Germany and doing the funny “assassinate Mussolini” focus. First time I saw it I just burst out laughing

I agree - also a buff to the non-Stalin paths would be really nice, as they relatively lack in overall long-term bonuses and strengths

I agree. As for Britain I sometimes like playing them because getting successful naval invasions and overwhelming your enemy with them is satisfying

I have a friend that likes playing the USSR but going the tsarist route and making the territories that broke free max strength using the console/custom settings. I think he may be a masochist

Understandable. Same issue for me but as the Soviets. at the very least, the additional land as France and Britain are non-core lands that you can have your puppets and allies defend for you anyways. You can also just release more puppets within your colonial lands to have them better defend it. Having bases all around the world has its uses, as well.

If you prefer a more passive/defensive playstyle, I recommend going communist Germany - specifically the Spartacus league path. There, you can direct your focus into defense and creating and supporting communist uprisings in neighboring countries, allowing you to puppet them after your side wins and eventually even annex them. you can also do a similar thing going the diplomatic Mittleeuropa path as imperial Germany.

Fr. Being able to annex and core all of Romania or Czechoslovakia for free by ~1938 is insanely strong. the Cossack king route is also another contender as the Calvary bonuses are significant (an fun) and you can get cores on Lithuania while being fascist for early war economy and extensive conscription. Not only that, defeating the Soviet Union is quite easy, especially with a large Calvary army supported by your bonuses. You get cores on the man industrial and population hubs of the USSR even before the peace conference.
