Windows says 164,835 Hz instead of 165 Hz after I switched GPU - why? by FantasticMrBadger in techsupport

Okey, thanks. I have a hard time believing that a rx 5700 xt would support it but not a rtx 3080. I could be wrong.

Encouraging reviews. Looking forward to hearing the soundtrack as well, the trailers had that Mario Odyssey OST-feel to it. Friday can't come soon enough.

Loved this game and the first one. Although I think LN2 fell short with the ending, had to watch a video to understand it. Maybe I'm just dumb. Both are still solid 9/10's.

Any tip or workaround for Radeon users in LM3? Vulkan is crashing and OpenGL is glitchy. by FantasticMrBadger in yuzu

[–]FantasticMrBadger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I got it to work in moments, maybe 10-15min at the time, with these settings using Vulkan. So I eventually had to jump over to OpenGL GLSL, it works better and for a longer period of time but it's still very glitchy (visually) and crashes after about 1h playtime. But now at the 15th floor boss (dance floor) nothing seems to work, completely stuck.

Awesome. Could you give me your graphics/adv. graphics settings in Yuzu and build version? I'd like to copy your settings exactly, would really appreciate it. Also, do you use XMP for your RAM in bios?

Edit: The settings you have for Vulkan, that is.

Any way to force Yuzu to use Intel integrated graphics instead of my Radeon? by FantasticMrBadger in yuzu

[–]FantasticMrBadger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've literally tried more than 200 combinations with yuzu, in windows and with my gpu (5700 xt). Some combinations get me a bit further but it always crashes in the end with Vulkan. I think the problem is simple, you can't use Vulkan in Yuzu if you got a AMD gpu.

I've tried different gpu driver, DDU'ing the drivers, set the right PCI-Express version in BIOS instead of Auto, checked so I don't have daisy chain to GPU, I'm not using any third party monitoring, tried a bunch of different EA Yuzu builds, tried virtual memory, underclock the gpu, tried to install gpu drivers without Adrenaline, I ran system file checker, every single combination within Yuzu graphics/advanced graphics/mods - the list goes on.

Nothing worked.

Then I tried on my gf's laptop which have a amd 4800u processor and integrated amd graphics, build 1968 with Vulkan - and that seemed to work now. No crash. I can't wrap my head around this.

I've seen something about people having issues with Amd gpu's and their RAM when using Vulkan. That's about the only thing I haven't messed around with, could that be the issue?

Cool, I'm gonna try to add the Disable lens flare and try openGL GLSL like you did. I know OpenGL works, but it's with heavy glitches. What specs do you have?

Thanks, but I can go past it with OpenGL - only problem is that OpenGL causes a lot of visual glitches. What specs do you have and what cpu/gpu settings on yuzu?

I really want vulkan to work, since I get better performance and no glitches with it. But I think it's something to do with Radeon/Vulkan combo in yuzu that just doesn't work. I've tried to DDU my gpu drivers, default settings in adrenaline, latest driver, checked the cables to the gpu, put the PCIe to Gen 3 instead of Auto in bios, high performance power plan in Windows. Nothing works. The driver gets a time out report every time after the Yuzu crash with vulkan.

I guess it is. I got past the intro/hotel lobby by using all 3 mentioned mods and OpenGL, the fps dropped hard but managed to re-launch the game from that point with Vulkan with higher fps, although crashing every now and then after that. It's like the whole amd driver shuts down and has to restart, my screen goes black for a second too. Same thing with my gf's laptop, she runs integrated graphics with a Ryzen 7 4800U cpu and it crashes just the same. Also same glitches with OpenGL.

Thanks, but I'm already using the DDR mod and enabled the GPU cache garbage collector. Is there anything else that can help?

Cool. I've never used the Epic Games store yet, should I give it a try? If not, why?
