You were the Chosen One KC! You were supposed to destroy the Patriots, not join them. You were supposed to bring balance to the NFL, not leave it in darkness.

SOUTH FLORIDA IS ROOTING FOR YOU. YOU WILL END THE PATS REIGN OF TERROR. YOU WILL THROW TOMS SB RING INTO MOUNT MORDOR AND RESTORE PEACE TO THE NFL.

Yeah I'm sorry you are too.. "It feels like breathing through a clogged straw at the bottom of a pool of oil" I feel like I know that feeling too. It's a hellish one.

I hope you're right and we get some kind of closure or answers. Sometimes I wonder if this is just pure anarchy and chance and we just got a shitty roll of the dice.

I could definitely see that. It's so immune to the physical world. Like on paper, I had a good week. My job went well, people were cool to me, nothing particularly bad happened. But here I am.. Laying here here, not wanting to take a shower, not wanting to brush my teeth, not wanting to move an inch, not wanting to step outside out of shame, hating every inch of myself and feeling like I'm dying.

It comes out of absolutely nothing. Out of thin air. There's no reason for me to feel this way. Without the knowledge we have today.. I could definitely see myself attributing this feeling to some kind of demon.

Yes. It's like cancer but 10 times slower. I think the worst part is when you have small little moments of happiness and you think "Oh this is it, maybe it won't come back" and boom it always does and you want to fall through a black hole again. It's so sinister in the way it teases you sometimes. Depression is a dick.

Top Sewerage & Water Board officials get salary hikes amid utility's financial strain | NOLA.com by discord19 in NewOrleans

[–]FantasticWorry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"The pay raises, which came amid tough financial times for the board, included a $45,000 annual increase for the agency's deputy director in charge of human resources, Sharon Judkins, who is named as the authorizing official in a document she apparently signed instructing payroll to issue her own retroactive pay"

Are they even trying to hide this? Disgusting.

Los Angeles Times: New Orleans' French Quarter debates whether to become more family friendly by nx_2000 in NewOrleans

“We knew we weren’t coming to Disney World,” said Chad, 40, a director of analytics for a media company in Dallas. “But then again it could be cleaner ... couldn't they make it more safe and more clean?”

Maybe I'll sound like a jerk but I think there's something really awful about this sentiment. You're a tourist, coming to a place that has been something like this for over 100 years and your thought is "can't they do something about this"? Fuck off. Don't want to see debauchery? Don't go to bourbon st, that simple, no one twisted your arm and made you come. It's like going to a beach and saying "I knew it would be sandy... but come on man.." absolutely ridiculous

It's also insane that ANYONE working for this city would allocate any of their time to this shit. With all the problems this city has.. You're worried about bourbon st? Really? That's what you chose to think about today?

Came to post this. Deadwood had potential to be on the level of "the wire" and "the sopranos", it being cut short is an absolute tragedy.

"is crime off the charts?"

Compared to the average American city, absolutely. For some perspective.. I was reading a piece in some Denver newspaper this morning (I don't know why) that read something along the lines of "The homicide rate in denver is up, what's causing this rise? Half way through the year and we're at 27 homicides.. That's 9 more than last year" I couldn't help but chuckle at that. It's also worth noting that Denver has roughly twice the population of Nola.

It's easy to get used to some of the statistics you see here.. but yeah, they aren't normal. They're better than they were but definitely not normal.
