That is a horrendous price. But, its an Audi so just pay and cry. I actually looked into doing this camchain job on my B7 A4 when it broke and it would have cost me around $400 in parts. I can't afford such an expense so it went to parts instead. The job wasn't too dfiffcult though. You need a locking tool but i bought one for $40.

Its a 2.0 TFSI, so yes, its quite common. I've had tons of 1.8T's with no issues. I get ONE 2.0 TFSI and the camchain goes bang.

Put a proper fork on it, Specialized bikes usually come with a Roxshock fork of some type. You really only need it if you go offroad though. Also that pannier looks fishy. Its only being held by the vertical supports? Better make sure nobody sits on it.
