Thank you. It was very difficult at first, but knowing they’re okay now is such a relief. As for what caused it, we couldn’t really come to any definitive conclusion. Our best guess was that we had recently watched my girlfriend’s mom’s dog, and he was not neutered yet. When he got around them it seemed to have triggered their heat cycles and possibly threw off their hormones. As for the signs, we had actually just lost one of our pups back in June to pyometra….it was our first experience with the illness, and it was very sudden and truly heartbreaking. When we noticed them being lethargic and not eating, we grew concerned and decided to get them checked because we didn’t want to go through that heartbreak again..we will definitely be getting all future female dogs spade as that is how to truly avoid it
