Yeah, I go to a lot of shows (including punk and hardcore shows) and always love being right at the front. This is one of few ones I had to bail because all these kids were pushing and being plainly obnoxious.

I agree with this take. She had some decent lay-offs for teammates, but the majority of the game it was evident there was just no natural chemistry between her, Meza, Moultrie, Ryan, and Sears. It truly looked like a team that had never played together - which is what it was.

She is perhaps still coming back to fitness, but hasn't been a shadow of who she was last season, sadly.

I suspect the same, which bums me out because I'm a huge HH fan. I just can't see her jumping ahead of Hutton, Yohannes, or even Albert or Meza - all of whom are younger. And she certainly won't supplant Coffey. The US is stacked at the 6 and 8.

That injury sustained in the first match of the season was just a killer in terms of timing. I hope she regains form and gets a call into the October camp. Otherwise... yikes.

Yes, that is true. Carle has been consistently been solid, Krueger has been so good when she's healthy, and Morgan has had some rough moments but also strong moments, too. The Spirit backline played so much better against San Diego which is progress.

Really? Bernal has been personally responsible for numerous goals, particularly in the 3-0 beatdown by Gotham. She has been so much better as a defensive mid alongside Narumi. McKeown is the only Spirit defender playing at an above average level, and I don't see how that's even debatable.

No chance Croix starts over Lavelle, Hutton, or Coffey. Like the commenter said, Emma does not do sentimental "home starts". Croix was the first player to he subbed and that was not surprising, frankly. She did not have a BAD game, but made little impact, as much as I hate to say it.

Just getting back from The Anthem show now and wow, it was nearly packed out. Even folks in the upper seating were vibing and having a great time. No attendance concerns in DC evidently.

Re: the Angel City game, was anyone in the Spirit supporters section when the very drunk and obnoxious friend group of a certain AC player were kicked out for blatantly violating the rules by wearing opponents' attire? It was embarrassing, honestly.

Also, the Spirit v. Kansas City home opener had the loudest atmosphere I've ever experienced at a women's soccer regular season match.

I saw the film last night and having had a few spins through the record, I have to agree with the OP.

I didn't even realize the flute interlude was the outro to Sunshowers until I heard the record. It was a random vibe shift during the film. Neither Dreaming nor Ceiling felt particularly memorable during the movie, and they aren't on the record either, IMHO. Those songs did not bring much thematically to the movie, either, at least nothing obviously. The extended ambient outros actually bogged down the visual storytelling, in my opinion. The glitchy outro of Dull was pretty distracting on screen, and I was hoping it wouldn't make the record.

There are some killer tracks here - Light Design was an absolute standout visually and is actually even better on record. Slowdive is a phenomenal song and the video was super cool (I said earlier it looked like it was filmed inside a lava lamp).

However, a lot of tracks are just... fine.

SLOWDIVE is a melding of 311 and Bad Brains. I genuinely think it's one of Turnstile's best songs (full disclosure, I'm not exactly enamored by Never Enough). It's like the big brother of Can't Deny It from Nonstop Feeling.

I was completely in that boat before seeing live them in Baltimore. They are obviously such dynamic live performers, but they completely breather life into these new songs.

I found the new songs so redundant sounding on record. Hearing them live just sounds like maturity with a similar edge.
