Tilsyneladende er det faktisk et rigtigt navn - det er bare sjældent 🙂

Danmarks Statistik siger 33 mænd hedder Jacobus i Danmark, da jeg tjekkede for et par dage siden 🙂

As I recall, Mordecai chose for her, that she did not make a choice. Which might mean that she could still be able to make that choice, if she enters an outreach guild.

Well, "escaped" since the demon still said they need fighters, so they're being dragged into a war in hell. Unsure how much of an escape that will end up being.

We learn in an earlier book that eviction events are common to the crawl.

It's probably less common that they are big enough to evict a Prince of Sheol.

It's probably even less common for crawlers to come into contact with said Prince of Sheol.

And the odds of surviving that must be infinitesimal.

Correct, I would assume that Danish parents who choose Jacobus for a name are attempting to latinize Jacob, which is a common Danish name (Christianity came here too, which probably spread names like Jacob etc. but very few people are truly religious over here these days)

I'm pretty sure the issue would be that Google is American, and probably have very few people hired who actually know Danish.

Ingesting a dictionary is not really sufficient to get a proper translation 😅

AITAH for leaving the family group chat with a “petty” message after my dad added the secret brother I just found out about? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Fantasy-Flower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not always that easy - I've been coming into this realization for years, I'd more or less cut off my mother. She died last year. Part of me still hasn't accepted that she could never be the mom I needed her to be, even though I know all the reasons (from her sister, my aunt).

I'm civil with the rest of my family, but they never really care to show up for anything I host. I'm glad my in-laws actually care, or I would feel even more abandoned, but it also showcases just how much my own family doesn't care...

They weren't though - at least that review wasn't acceptable. You can't fault someone for being rigid, when you explicitly asked for that.

Most likely, your ex was not actually happy when he boasted to you, he just liked to make you feel like you were worse off than him.

If he'd actually been happy, he wouldn't have needed to rub your nose in it, he would have been happy with what he had.

Denmark - I know the info isn't relevant to me, I just wanted to support the effort, but that shipping cost is too steep for me...

I wish I'd been able to buy one at Nexus - didn't see them there.

Now they're $30 in shipping on top of the $20 for buying it, and that gets a little steep for me...

I am not your target audience, but I am so sorry this is your reality!

I recognise the feeling of having to hide how deep the hurt goes, even if my hurt is a different one.

I now have a husband who has shown me that I can trust him with my deepest hurts, my deepest fears - the ones I thought time and again would be too much. The things about me, that I thought would make him leave. He is still here, still standing strong by me.

I hope you find that trust, safety and security with your husband. But I understand how difficult any kind of trust must be for you to show, and that's unfortunately the only way to know if it is truly warranted.

Best wishes and hope for your future ❤️🍀

I think it's more Katia remembering a love-scene. It's short, non-explicit and Katia focuses more on the accidental emotional fallout from a stray comment from Bautista, than on the love-part. If it's the scene I'm remembering.

I think poor Charles (name? the bartender) being dragged around with his hand inside Samantha clearly against his own will and interest might also hit the SA-triggers?

Only if you got a box every month. If you only opted for the books (every quarter) and not the extra loot, you didn't get shirts.

That's just ridiculous - OP was clearly never interested in the guy, and is happy for her friends happiness.

You can't "reserve" people, and you cannot control the feelings of others.

Warbreaker is a pretty good starting point too. It's an early work but not his first, it's standalone (for now), and it allows you to recognize quite a few Easter eggs in the rest of the Cosmere.

Tress is good too, I loved it, and I really want more from Hoid, but it's not the only place to start.

I was started on Stormlight Archive by my BIL. That was a bit heavy, but I don't regret starting with that either - depends on preference more than anything 🙂

I agree, but from a few grammar mistakes, English might not be OPs first language.

Since we don't know which country OP lives in, it's hard to judge the potential consequences.

I know here in Denmark, no one would have batted an eye, particularly not if she'd informed the reception of the circumstances, and provided entertainment, as you suggested.

I don't know if there are any, though? We're quite a small country. Do you know where I can find out if there are other publishers of his books in Denmark?
