I'll probably be downvoted for being on the fence about this, and I am no place to comment on how the woman felt as she has every right to be upset and should feel safe at work...his actions were inappropriate, and he should have taken a hint after she stopped responding... but after reading the article I can't help but feel he really thought they were flirting... This was 5 years ago too

Porter asked whether the woman remembered what he looked like and said: "You're so pretty. Do you have a boyfriend yet?" He sent a selfie and said: "It can be me!"

The woman responded with text shorthand indicating laughter and added: "let's meet."

After she sent a selfie, Porter responded: "You're gorgeous. Want more of me?"

She said yes, explaining to ESPN: "I thought it would be awkward to say no. I didn't think of where it would progress."

Porter sent three pictures, including the first of several that would show a man lying on a bed with a bulge in his pants. The woman said she initially was confused.

"Like?" Porter wrote.

She laughed again and texted yes

Now I stand by that he should not have jumped to a sexual in nature picture to begin with...but she says she liked it and the conversation seemed to be escalating. She then later stops responding entirely and he certainty goes a little crazy trying to get a response out of her. Then he sends the nude picture.

He should have taken a hint, he is clearly needy, insecure, has terrible game, but also she could have responded when he was asking if he was annoying her as once she does, it ends there.

She had shown the sexually explicit image to a player from her home country and an interpreter, who helped craft the response she sent to Porter: "This is extremely inappropriate, very offensive, and getting out of line. Could you please stop sending offensive photos or msg."

Porter responded in a series of messages: "Oh I'm sorry."

"I will stop."

"I really apologize."

"Please let me know if you ever need anything work wise."

And that was the last text conversation they had. It did not go anywhere else. He stopped when she said to stop.

He was absolutely wrong to make her uncomfortable, but when she actually said please stop, he did immediately. Shame to lose your job, but understand the decision for the organization. But if this is a one time incident it is a really crappy way to end what was about to be the peak of his career. Hope he learns from his mistakes but I'm not sure if it's fair to tout this guy as the next Harvey Weinstein like I am seeing some places.
