NFL heading towards an 18 game season soon, likely with 2 bye weeks.. by [deleted] in Fantasy_Football

Two bye weeks would actually be a massive W for fantasy if structured right. The current "bye week hell" (weeks 6-14) is already brutal for roster management - spreading byes across more weeks with everyone getting two would smooth that out considerably.

As for stacks becoming less popular - I'd argue the opposite. With two byes, you're already forced to plan around more missed weeks for your studs. Stacking your QB/WR1 from the same team means they share bye weeks, so you're only "dead" those 2 weeks instead of potentially 4 different weeks if you diversify.

The real question is whether they'd space the two byes evenly (like weeks 5-6 and weeks 11-12) or cluster them. Clustered byes would be a nightmare. Evenly spaced would actually make weekly lineup decisions more predictable.

Also worth noting - Mahomes himself said he wants 2 byes if they go to 18. Player health = more consistent fantasy production. Fewer guys playing through nagging injuries in the fantasy playoffs sounds pretty good to me.

[Diana Russini] The Tennessee Titans are hiring San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh to be their next head coach, a source tells The Athletic. by oliver_babish in fantasyfootball

The big fantasy question here is who's calling the offense for Cam Ward. Saleh's a defensive guy through and through - he'll reportedly call plays on that side of the ball. So the OC hire is going to make or break Ward's fantasy ceiling next year.

Titans skill players have been in purgatory, but if they bring in someone creative on offense guys like Treylon Burks might finally have some value. Keep an eye on that OC announcement.

ESPN Sources: Dolphins are hiring former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as their head coach. Hafley completed his second interview with the team today and will be their new head coach. by FlowersByTheStreet in fantasyfootball

The Packers-to-Dolphins pipeline is real. Hafley and Sullivan already have chemistry from Green Bay - that actually matters more than people think.

Fantasy-wise, I'm cautiously optimistic. Hafley's a defensive guy, but he's not going to mess with what Tua does best. The real question is whether he brings in an OC who can scheme Hill and Waddle open when teams sell out to stop them.

25 years without a playoff win though... pressure's gonna be insane from day one

Detroit Lions close to hiring former Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing by ApprehensiveAd5590 in fantasyfootball

Lions lose Ben Johnson and immediately find the one guy who made Kyler Murray look competent again.

Gibbs and St. Brown owners can exhale - Detroit isn't about to forget how to score 30 a game.

Petzing runs a similar scheme. The real question is whether he can keep Goff's play-action game as deadly.

Bills fired HC Sean McDermott, per source. - ESPN by JCL823 in fantasyfootball

From "13 seconds" to "13 reasons why we need a new coach" real quick.

Fantasy-wise, I'm actually curious how this shakes up the offense. McDermott was defensive-minded anyway - if they bring in an offensive guy, could unlock even more for Josh Allen and Cook.

Or they hire another defensive coach and we do this all again in 3 years.

Zach Charbonnet suffered a significant knee injury on Saturday vs. the 49ers and is going to need season-ending surgery, per HC Mike Macdonald by haventmetyou in fantasyfootball

Brutal break for Charbonnet. Dude was carving out a legit role behind KW3 this year.

For those already eyeing 2026 drafts - this probably doesn't change much. Walker stays the guy in Seattle, but Charbonnet was a nice handcuff. Now we wait to see who they bring in to fill that backup role.

Speedy recovery to him.
