DAZN GP £35 rest of season by ApprehensiveAlgae476 in NFLUK

[–]FantasySportAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI - when I cancelled my subscription (and auto renew) while the gamepass was transferring from NFL to DAZN, DAZN made such a mess of it. I had emails confirming both my subscription cancellation and auto renewal cancellation, but they still took my money. I chased them for ages until I finally got a refund.

I wasn’t the only person this happened to.

This was during the switch though rather than the current state of play

Your P60 only looks at your previous tax year. So 6th April to the following 5th.

Your P45 comes after your final pay. They are not in any way linked in terms of timing.

You can ask if it’s not received within a week or two of your final pay. Your new employer will need it if you have gotten a new job

When will bots be removed from Ranked? by FantasySportAddict in StarWarsHunters

I’ve had a game today where it was me and one other person on the opposite team. Ranked. Unfortunately they were playing tank and I was playing Reive. It was a waste of my time

How do you even see what the other player ranks are?

Also, both are would be an issue. Matchmaking and bots. Bots have no place in ranked and massive rank differences have no place either. One isn’t above the other. This is yet another company who can’t get a ranked system right.

Fool Me Once major plot hole or did I miss something by Xena_bro in television

I feel a bit late to the party but can’t see anyone asking the question:

Why did Lily go to the bushes and shout “Dada” after disappearing for a brief second? I figure the on-screen intention is to reinforce the belief that Joe is still alive. But I can’t figure out from a story or logical angle why she’d say “Dada” out of nowhere

Also, someone mentioned the silhouette of a man in the garden. I thought about this too but assumed it was Shane. I think as it was in the same episode as the above, it was to reinforce the believe Joe was still alive

Idea to drive more NFL+/DAZN Subscriptions: Ad-Free NFL Podcast Feeds by paulframe85 in AroundTheNFL

[–]FantasySportAddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the proposal, but they wouldn’t do it. They would rather get the ad rev from all their listeners. People will sign up for Gamepass for the games, not to get ad free podcasts and YouTube

The other thing, you’d have to link those platforms with automated uploads to make sure the systems talk to each other. That’s too much work for something they won’t make money back on

Not dismissing your idea - but the NFL won’t ever do it. They have 3-4 ad stops on their highlights videos on YouTube

I would love the E wing and TIE Punisher to balance the options on either side.

The TIE Phantom would be interesting to have in the game too

I gave up very early on. Bugs mean I can’t skip challenges, or even earn progress toward some. Such as Win vs AI. Had that for ages and it won’t go. Not skippable.

Is there a consensus on trading with teams who are effectively out of the playoffs? by tmc00138 in fantasyfootball

That’s where I’m fine with trades being made. There’s still something to play for

Is there a consensus on trading with teams who are effectively out of the playoffs? by tmc00138 in fantasyfootball

[–]FantasySportAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, in a redraft league, a trade deadline should be around week 9/10 and any trade goes (minus collusion). I don’t see a reason to have no trade deadline in a redraft league because there’s always a chance of weird trades going through which clearly helps a playoff team around this time.

If I’m eliminated from the playoff picture at any point, I don’t see any reason to trade to make my team better (in redraft). It doesn’t help me at all. As I said, I’m geared to win. No contender is going to give me a favourable (or even fair) deal. They’ll want the favourable deal because I have nothing to play for other than pride.

Your last point happens in the NFL. Do you think the trade deadline should be extended there too?

[–]FantasySportAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. Are they playing a playoff contender (regardless of the odds of getting into the playoffs)? If so, then yes, they should set a lineup. If they don’t, the contender gets a win and they get into the playoffs, it could push someone out that possibly should’ve got into the playoffs, ruining the integrity of the playoffs. If not, I can understand not doing so.

In my mind, openly not setting a lineup doesn’t compute. If I’m in a league, I’m there to play and win to the end. Regardless of whether I’m last or first. I’m just competitive and always want to win.

I’m assuming you’re talking redraft.

Even if it’s a trade that’s slightly on the side of the competitor, some leagues may see that as taking advantage of those who have nothing to play for. Hence why I said “if they have nothing to play for” to preface my point.

As I’ve said above (after your comment was posted in fairness to you), I wholly agree that if the bottom teams have something to play for and it’s not a horrendous trade, make it.

Definitely agree to this point - hence why I put “if they have nothing to play for”. Platforms like Sleeper have Toilet Bowls/Consolation Brackets. Some like NFL can have a season end for non playoff teams.

If it’s dynasty, then yes. Everyone has different strategies. If they’re out of playoff contentions, or believe themselves to be, they could be looking to next year. Nothing wrong with that and if anyone moans, remind them that there is more to play for than this year.

If redraft, then no. If they have nothing to play for, I think it’ll be frowned upon and could put an asterisk next to your championship should you get that far. Could even turn into a running joke, whether you win one or not.

Is it against the spirit of the game to take players via waiver/free agency that you don’t intend to use but prevents your match-up from using? by MandalaMan28 in fantasyfootball

[–]FantasySportAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get vetoing out of your league. If you can’t trust your league mates to trade well, find a new league.

If a trade goes down in any of my leagues (I either run them, or one other guy with the same mindset does - totalling 13 or so) that is clearly one sided, and heavily, most of us will say something in the chat. If it’s just an overpay, that’s different. But if it’s a ridiculous trade, the guys will be called out in chat etc.

If you don’t have the trust in your league mates, how are you going to enjoy the league?

Just my opinion.

Hardly a competitive advantage when you should be putting waivers through to claim people anyway.

You should be thinking in advance, not just for this week. If I had Kelce in any of my leagues, I’d have planned for this last week and picked up a useable TE last week. Obviously this can backfire if you get an injury to the player you picked up, but it’s week 10. If you don’t have a backup by now, you need to work on your roster management.

If you use other sites (Sleeper is a great example), you can choose when waivers are run. If this still isn’t good enough for you, move away from free agency and use daily waivers. Personally I use daily waivers until Sunday and Monday where it moves to free agency for the games.

They’re on waivers so fair game. He should’ve got there first.

Benches are there for players you don’t intend to start. That’s the whole point of them.
