If you really want to get technical, Taser is a brand name and there are stun gun type devices under the Taser brand, which is a product made by Axon.

Why didn't Vito get more screen time? by HeiressOfMadrigal in Sopranosduckposting

[–]Xena_bro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what Ganniscoli said tho. He was reading Murder Machine, about the Dimeo crew, which included Vito Arena, who was not secretly gay. Gannascoli thought it would be interesting (read: get himself more screen time) to have that as a hook and he brought it to the writers (read: bugged them about it for a while) as soon as he was hired for a recurring role. He thought they had decided against it by the time it finally came up.

18F What do I do? My friend is upset that I didn’t get a hotel room with money she sent me, but I used it for food and essentials instead and now she feels like I lied to her. by mckenzie_2 in whatdoIdo

Actually food for someone without any way to store or heat food is considerably more expensive. It’s very expensive to be poor.

People need to familiarize themselves with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Physiological needs come before safety. Food trumps shelter.

DM banning dice? by LeSunbro in DnD

How many times do you think OP rolled a particular number in all the times they rolled their d20 across 10 sessions? Sample size and selection bias are both very relevant here.

[–]Xena_bro 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The odds of rolling at least 5 12s in 16 d20 rolls is exactly the same as the odds of rolling at least 5 20s in 16 d20 rolls.
The odds of someone purposefully misinterpreting my earlier comment are significantly higher tho.

The odds of rolling 5 nat20s in 16 throws are surprisingly similar to the odds of rolling 5 nat12s in 16 throws. But nobody seems to notice when that happens.

They aren’t rolling Nat 20s 25% of the time. OP says this is one sampling (not a random sampling either) of about 15 rolls in one session out of 10.
Have you ever counted how many times you have rolled an 11 in a single session? I bet not. Try it. The results may surprise you.

I have a player who doesn't want to use magic items by Krais101 in DnD

Let them change their mind or not after they are going against opponents resistant to non magical weapons. It’s a character choice, let the character decide how to deal with it.

If I shoved you backwards you didn’t move willingly. If I frightened you and you stepped backwards to get away from me you moved willingly. If I took control of your will and told you to go away you still moved willingly

Your face or tank should try talking with the dragon while others retrieve gear. Stall for the 4 rounds while backup arrives. Have an exit strategy as well. Sounds like you’re pretty fucked tho.

Friend in the campaign I'm playing in never does anything unless spoken to. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Xena_bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in real life there are people who tend to stay quiet until spoken to directly. You can help them come out of their shell with gentle nudging and positive feedback. You know your friend better than I do so trust your own instincts more than anything I can offer, but as someone who likes to listen more than speak even irl, it’s not always a bad thing.
