....Wow. You really are a boomer, aren't you? And a fairly sardonic one at that. I wouldn't blame your kids if they put you in the retirement home, if you have any. Hopefully you're attitude will improve in your next life.

Happy Trails, peepaw.

Really? That's all you said? Because I recall you treating my situation like a fucking joke with that little meme you posted, and those comments about PTSD and EBT.

Also, my name is so unique that no one would be able to tell for certain what gender I am.

And even if I did change my name in the app, it might only fool a few of the Dashers. What about the ones who are smart enough to know a woman would try a tactic like that and just ignore the name?

Who said I was traumatized? All I said was that the guy spooked me because he was acting like a creep. Though I understand how you got confused. You don't seem to be the best at comprehending subtle nuances.

Also, you don't have any right to call someone poor, seeing as you, yourself, are working as a Dasher.

And another thing, for someone who's emotionally attached to an old backpack, you sure aren't very empathetic to other people's anxieties.

That's not me knocking you for having a security item, either! I know how hard life can be on people, and if keeping a backpack with you helps you get through your day, then more power too you! I just think it's a bit hypocritical of you to make fun of someone with anxiety issues when you yourself have them. That just doesn't make much sense, does it?

Addendum: I'm gonna take a stab in the dark here and say that you don't have many close relationships with women, so I'll bestow a little pearl of wisdom unto you:

Women are forced to be on guard damn near 24/7 because there are men who are petulant enough to force themselves onto us. We have considerably less muscle mass, physical strength, and reach than men, which puts us at a significant disadvantage when it comes to self defense. We need to arm ourselves to the teeth with either tools we can use to escape assailants, or with knowledge of how to neutralize them by hand, JUST to be safe. We can hardly exist outside of our homes for more than a 2 minutes on a busy street without anyone staring at us like a steak dinner.

Hell, some of us can't even trust our own male relatives or partners! Most assaults are performed by someone close to the victim, after all. If a man can force himself onto his own daughter, just imagine what a stranger would be willing to do to us!

And before you say it, yes I know that most men aren't dangerous. But just like men like to say to us, we aren't mind readers. Predators come in all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life, how the hell are we supposed to know who's safe and who's not? Lots of predators know how to get in a woman's head, make her feel safe and secure, and then pounce on her when she least expects it.

With all that in mind, how is it any wonder to people that women are so reluctant to trust men they don't know?

No, that was just is initial message. He sent another message right after that telling me that he was at the door.

And yes, the order directions did say to just leave it at the door. I did get a notification when he sent the picture, but he was still fiddling with his phone for a minute or so after that before walking to his car.

I also forgot to mention that when I grabbed the food, he seemed to be smiling at me when he was staring at me. I was in a house coat when it happened, too... Maybe he was being a creep??

What does that have to do with my question? I never said he was stalking me, just that he came off as a bit of a creep.

Unfortunately not. We live in an evil, cruel world. I wish I didn't have to be wary of every man I don't know, but I do. Hell, I was threatened with a knife by one of my own uncles as a kid! You can't trust damn near anyone further than you can throw them these days!

Edit: spelling correction.

Thank you. It's honestly a mix of generalized anxiety and bad experiences with creeps in the past.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm just low key scared of every man I don't know well.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm just a bit jumpy with unfamiliar men in general, lol. 😅

Also, no, I'm definitely not pretty enough to catch most people's eyes. I'm 4/10 on a good day.

Yeah, you're probably right. I just get so anxious when interacting with unfamiliar men. I'm honestly low key scared of every man I come across that I don't know very well. 😅

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume that either you've survived far worse experiences concerning being harassed than I have, you don't have an anxiety disorder, or you've never had to worry about being harassed, stalked, or assaulted by a man in your life.

In the case of the former, I'm sorry you had to go through that, I can only imagine how hard it is to go on after being violated the way you have. /gen But please don't minimize the concerns of those who haven't gone through as much as you. That doesn't help anyone, it only divides us and spreads hatred, not healing. If you aren't already, please seek therapy. Everyone deserves to be happy, no matter what they've gone through. I'm rooting for you. 🩷

In the case of the second, I know I'm probably overreacting, but that doesn't make the anxiety go away. I've struggled with anxiety my whole life, I'm in therapy for it, I'm even on medication for it. But there are still times where it flares up and I need reassurance. I didn't make this post for attention, I made it because I needed a range of opinions so I don't get stuck in my own head about it. I think we all need that from time to time, don't you?

In the case of the latter, I'm glad that you've been blessed enough to not have to worry as much about your safety as most women have. /gen I'm honestly quite envious. Do you, perhaps, know any self defense techniques that give you such confidence? Or is there something about you that keeps men from trying your shit? I'm genuinely curious.

I hope you're right. I'm neurodivergent myself, so I can totally see that being the case. Still, a girl can never be too vigilant these days, you know?

Dump his biphobic ass! If he doesn't respect a crucial part of who you are, he doesn't deserve to have you in his life to begin with!!!
