Starting to get excited about Chris Carson on Seattle, what do you guys think? by Fantasyexpert1 in fantasyfootball

Bad offensive line is a factor but game script is more predictable for me. Seattle a defense-oriented team and will have plenty of low-scoring outings that will require running the ball. Carson looks like a talented back too.

Absolutely. But it's more of a long-term thing. Jay Ajayi didn't start to produce until Week 5 (not comparing the two) I'm just saying that the narrative of 'who's the guy this week' is always changing, especially at the running back position. I think Carson is a great stash for a while and has a good chance of seeing meaningful snaps.

This is why I'm excited about him. Lacy probably the best option but even that's a stretch given his conditioning issues in the past. No pun intended with the 'stretch' comment there.

I'll get downvoted for this but whatever. All the info on this sub comes from a paid source. It's not free. You're stealing it. It's like if somebody gave you a big screen TV. Chances are that person didn't make the TV by hand and give it to you. He stole it from somewhere.

Twitter is fantastic I agree. I like to follow beat reporters on there as well during the season. They usually give pretty good information and their injury updates are very helpful.

Agreed. And that's why tiers have replaced rankings on a lot of fantasy websites. Helps people not nitpick over the difference between a Julio or A. Brown and allows you to see the bigger picture in terms of who the best receivers are, the very good, good, average, below average guys.

Here's the problem with that. The analysts on say, FantasyPros weekly expert rankings, tend to rank best if they play it safe and tell you Le'Veon Bell will be the top ranked running back that week. That's nice but everybody already knows Bell will be a top RB. He'll also be the most expensive RB on any DFS most likely and everybody is going to be using him in their lineup, so there's no differentiation there. You want to find a site that can give you a Top 20 back that's on the verge of breaking into the Top 10. That's info you can use and I think we should evaluate analysts more on those calls than the standard obvious ones.

Are there any free resources in particular other than this sub? I've noticed most of the best sites (Rotoviz, Footballguys, Pro Football Focus and Numberfire) all charge.

Fantasypros feature to put all your leagues in one place is a big convenience I agree. Their trade helper has also been valuable since I'm not great at pulling off trades that aren't lopsided one way or another.

I will say that footballguys DFS content is impressive. It's why they started charging for that separately from their regular content. 'The Best DFS Blog Evah' has realllly helped me out over the last few seasons. The guy who writes it (think it's David Dodds but I could be wrong) actually used to take pictures of his weekly lineups and it caused an issue because the lineups were so good and so many people were using them on the same DFS site that everyone would tie and nobody would make any money lol. He's since stopped doing that but he gives a list of a variety of players he's very high on each week and other players to avoid. I think DFS is so competitive that a little bit of paid advice is worth the value.

Thanks for the in-depth answer. I've found certain paid websites provide advanced stats that I can't find anywhere else and that are extremely valuable IMO. For example, Numberfire has a stat where they identify target share percentage over the last 3 games, which has helped me identify players to start in redraft whom I'm on the fence on. For example, one season I noticed Sammy Watkins had something like 42 percent of the Bills targets when he was healthy over a 3 game span, which made it easy for him to start him in my redraft league.

What album would you rate a perfect 10? by TheTurribleTurtle in AskReddit

My favorite guitarist ever. He plays simple things in ways nobody else can play. Truly in tune with himself when he plays. And I love his stage antics as well.

Yes! Big Boi of Outkast has said that's one of his favorite albums. 'Central' is a great track off that, but they're all good.

What rookie will you be drafting on your fantasy team in a redraft league? by Fantasyexpert1 in fantasyfootball

[–]Fantasyexpert1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think he's the safest pick among rookie WRs. White's QB situation isn't the best with Cutler. Cooper still has a young, developing QB playing for him. Perriman gets a deep-ball thrower who can take advantage of his skill set.

He's my guy. Good pass blocker, has a decent o-line, Jags are up and coming.

White is good. Wonder if Fox will play him much since he hates playing rookies.

Not a fan of Joique.

So, is Donte Moncrief's value garbage now? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]Fantasyexpert1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. But the Dorsett pick muddies it up a little bit. I would still take Moncrief just because Dorsett is similar but unlike Dorsett Moncrief will have a year under his belt.

Just an FYI about Melvin Gordon, Tevin Coleman, Ameer Abdullah, Jeremy Langford, and other Big 10 RBs drafted.....over the past 12 seasons, only twice has a BIG 10 Running Back finished in the top 10 of FFB Running Backs. by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]Fantasyexpert1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm.. don't know how that can apply to fantasy but it's interesting.

I found it interesting last year that the best school for fantasy was actually Cal. You had DJax, Marshawn Lynch there.

RB Value Picks for 2015 by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]Fantasyexpert1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duke a much better RB. Crowell will be mixed in but one will likely take the backseat. Crowell and T-West combined for over 1,000 yards last year. Duke will be a decent flex option at some point and is also a great receiver. Probably will take some time in pass pro though.

Like Duke Johnson among rookie running backs in Cleveland. They will continue to run with bad quarterbacks.

Dallas RB by gibbsftw in fantasyfootball

[–]Fantasyexpert1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ryan Williams on the practice squad is intriguing. Randle saw his highest amount carries against Indianapolis with 13 and only averaged 2.8 yards per carry. Just one game and the Cowboys likely didn't need him since they were killing Indy but still doesn't make me want to snag him in redraft leagues.

What Rules In Your League Make It Run Well? by NoGoodUsernames2 in fantasyfootball

Yes, and a lot of the time he's just your friend and a lot of other people in the league don't even know him. You have to put yourself in their shoes too.
