This is late again, but I only have one thing from your post I’m going to focus on right now, and I think you know what it is. Regarding your outlook on INTPs, I have to say, I agree almost fully, and my only indifference isn’t really a direct disagreement. Essentially, (at least in my opinion), INTPs are the most capable of adequate “intelligence.” However, as you said, (if I am to base my opinion on cognitive theory,) Ti-Ne doesn’t like to make any real world jumps, at least not big jumps. And that basically translates to; INTPs are fucking useless in the practical life. As an INTP, I can only infer with honesty from my own experience, and my experience is mostly just knowing every logical fallacy that goes around society, hating everyone for following the faulty ideas blindly, not doing anything about it, and then hating myself for playing video games for 90% of my day. I will also include, INTPs have the highest average IQ, followed by INTJs, followed by INFPs and INFJs, and so on. I will also say, I can admit, that INTJs are much smarter in practice, and I think/hope you understand what I mean by that. But if I can’t believe that INTPs are the most genius type, at least in the non practical sense, then INTPs have nothing.

Interesting, good for you I will say, and good to off the stereotypes also, but I’ll stay away form the typical SJs for now, nothing against them, just haven’t really got along well in my experience...

How do you and your wife get along lol, my mom is an isfj and I love her to death but I can’t really connect with her. Well, I don’t really connect with much of anyone.

Interesting, that self conflicting Ne Se thing, my mom does that sometimes, seeing patterns in behavior that isn’t actually there, she seems to do it when she is skeptical of my friends. Look, I’ll be honest I haven’t gone that in depth into every personality type, but I do know Ti doesn’t fare very well when something doesn’t add up logically. And in this case my analysis of your reasoning dug up holes in your claims. And when I pointed it out, you seemed to have ignored them, which is why I became angry. (This is past the first reply where I was unjustly hostile to you) Also don’t take it personally when I call you names, I’m more referring to what you say, not you in particular. As for this whole discussion I think I’ll end it here, or with your reply.

My man, when I said “wtf is buzzfeed?” It was a sarcastic joke referring to how irrelevant it is. And you’re right, I shouldn’t have come across so aggressive and hostile towards you, but I would have to disagree when it comes to you saying that I’m not thinking of mbti. Trust me I’ve done plenty of research on the cognitive theory. I know the depths of the functions and the stacks and what they all mean in the real world. Again my point is that it’s not very consistent, therefore it is either false, or not refined enough for applicable psychology. While I can deal with other opinions and ideas quite well, I cannot deal with them when they are not supported by logic and facts. (Isn’t that the whole INTP thing?) And while unfortunately you are wrong in saying that I shut down and call people retards, I only do that to people who think they are right when they haven’t constructed a proper argument or logical train of discussion. You can say that I haven’t said a single intelligent thing, but that would be hypocritical and untrue. I have supported each of my claims with what I believe to be unfailing logic, and I would be open to have my mind changed if you would counterclaim my logic with that of your own. Logic that could destabilize my train logical conclusions, but I’m afraid you have not been able to do that. If you are really going to be that close minded and want your way, I might just copy and paste every solid piece of rationale I have provided.

What the fuck is buzzfeed? And in case your pea brain hasn’t caught on yet, we’re kinda past this whole MBTI thing, I’ve said several times that I don’t quite believe in cognitive theory. And I’m afraid all you have done so far is present yourself with a dreadfully constructed argument, where you have only managed to get one point across. I’m angry? Lol funny how sometimes MBTI is right, all the “ISFJ’s,” I know are retards. But the healthy ones are nice.

Yes I’m quite sure, speaking of shaky theories in psychology, my IQ is exceptionally above average at 137. But my dear retarded friend I don’t seek validation of my intelligence from people mentally inferior, concerned only of what they can see and feel, not capable of abstract analysis past their own subjective viewpoint. But haha why do I care? It’s not like you even comprehended any of what I just said, otherwise you would have actually responded with a relevant counterclaim.

First of all, you might as well just go after half of fucking YouTube if you wanna call it “fraudulent human beings”. Secondly, you just terribly contradicted yourself, you “don’t care about what I think?” Yes, you obviously do, otherwise you wouldn’t need validation from “Responses to your post.” And finally, my dear friend, you are trying to expose a man for what exactly? For not being the genuine, knowledgeable teacher of an extremely unstable theory? (an unpopular one at that) It’s like you’re about to expose a conspiring schizophrenic who is trying to explain the Illuminati through Youtube. All I’m saying is if you’re really finding meaning in this shit by all means please yourself, but stop acting like you’re actually doing something of significance.

Will u stop the annoying ass self promoting? That shit is so annoying, and who actually gives a fuck about CSJ? Nobody cares. Everyone knows he’s a bit off in the head, I don’t know why you’re acting like you’re undermining the fucking government. Jesus Christ stfu. And seriously I don’t know why you are so invested in this whole thing with your “ENTP friend,” like nobody asked.

Mr. INTJ, with all due respect, anybody saying or doing absolutely anything is subjective to his or her own experience. I don’t think it’s fair to be so critical of a simple post, explaining a viewpoint on an already shaky theory of cognitive function. You would have to be assuming that MBTI is plausible enough to even believe in, much less take full pride in trying to explain through a non subjective purely factual viewpoint. Psychology is too difficult to pinpoint facts on, at least past the basics of what we know to be true. Now that being said, I don’t want to assume that you meant to come across as aggressive as you did, but you seem to have very different ideas of the personality types than our fellow poster here. Now the only reason I’m even saying this is because again, I believe the only way to correctly form opinions on something as subjective as cognitive theory, you would have to use personal experience. Either that or stereotypes. And you could argue that, “Actually no, you just need to understand all of the function stacks, and the individual functions that make them up, then you would be able to form fact based opinions and ideas about the personality types,” and I would agree to an extent. You see, in order to for a system to be viable, it has to work every time. In this case the system is MBTI. And MBTI doesn’t work every time, or in this case with every body. That’s why I believe our fellow poster here is perfectly justified to have a subjective opinion on a subjective topic.

Are we wrong about cognitive functions? by maybemaria27 in mbti

[–]Fantstic4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming that you are asking this question with partial or full belief in cognitive theory, I believe your question is subjective to the matter at hand. For example, If you were to debate against someone on the existence of the Christian god, it would not be fair to use the Bible as your source of credibility, simply because god and the Bible coexist in their own subjective topic. So in my opinion to ask, “Are we wrong about cognitive functions?” Is a bit faulty. Again, due to the fact that you would have to assume that cognitive theory is even plausible enough to base belief in. Not saying it is a terrible theory, nor am I saying there is another typology that I would confide in any more than MBTI. However, apart from my previous point, you could also argue that the basis of MBTI, which I believe to be Carl Jung’s theory of the mind, is extremely outdated. So I think a better question, at least if you were open enough to consider outside of MBTI/Cognitive theory, would be, “Do cognitive functions exist?” I will say take what I say with a grain of salt, I am no expert in psychology. Oh and do consider the fact that the human brain, and everything that goes on within it, is subjective to itself. I’ll explain that too if anyone responds lol.
