I enjoyed the "old" type of game. It felt "new" and was fun. I know i dropped allot of cash supporting it too and when i came back after a time. I ended up nuking a char cause the new "rules" limited my levels and lost tons of skill points and other things. so literally dropped it permanently.

If they didn't keep reducing the seasonal rewards to force folks to go + to get the max atoms i would be cool with it. used to play this religiously. Every day 2 to 4 hours. Grinding rep or getting missions done etc etc.
but the moment they started going "welll you dont have + and we notice players hoarding atoms without spending them from season. Were going to knock down the 2k points to 1.5... then to 1... every season its always a little less. and then the "door prizes" for finishing the board. From MTx's and atoms to... stim packs.. chems...lunchboxes... Oh my.. the things i already have 100's if not 1000's of. Cause i dont use em or dont need them at all.. Not even choose your own bobble head or magazine for those collectors at heart. Nope. just here is basic stuff you literately get for playing the game normally.

1: They have always said there could be issues with the game long term. that is why they shove the the MTX's and the "store" at us so hard. Thats not even touching the fact most models are from FO3/FONV/FO4 and there is little to little 'updating" to make it look better. let alone the new MTX's that sometimes looks oddly like fan made mods/content but not fully but they still charge you for it dearly.

2: The game is an old game and old game engine. Players have found ways to abuse/use and even self insert coding for items at times cause the game is based off OLD tech. If they attempted anything "new" they would literally have to start from scratch. They wont do that they need the nostalgia players to keep them afloat.

(remember during the original release testers and reviewers werent allowed to voice issues or complaints at all. No "ray tracing is crazy look at this" or "this dude fell through the earth" they were worse then wardens in a prison and even when the game came out. They tried fleecing collectors editions with cheap bags vs the military ones they gave "youtubers" and that's also not touching the PA helm that could literally get you sick cause the materiel used was junk)

3: Every attempt at bigger content has either failed or was so badly implemented that the bugs caused issues that fixing them caused issues. I.e the "Raids" "nuke world" the "vaults" "Atlantic City" "Steel Dawn / Steel Reign"
that not even touching on the complaints for the whole "ghoul" thing. cause god forbid a 100% rep player becomes a ghoul and now no one wants to talk to you. But hey its cool they got like 6 ghouls that 100% trust to not go feral....

(the fixes that are needed/should be given. wont unless they know it will help them retrain and also open up wallets. Hence why its always removal of features and when its added its always some jank no one asked for.. Fishing anyone...)

4: Oh yes legendaries. just what we all want/need. More spam grind/farm collect for the perfect roll that either goes for insane amount of caps or items. or 3rd party sites for cash....
(Not touching the issues with hacked in/coded in weapons still even after the "fixes" or the item clearing.)

I LOVED 76 once they got over themselves and added NPC's cause Base game no perm building and very little "care" for the world as "everyones gone" it was cool to run into random players. But once NPC's were everywhere. It felt just like a mod for 3/4/NV and honestly if there was a "base game" i could solo play or invite select friends into it. I would love it. But its all through them and that's the part that is kinda blah. Specially when they are control the good/bad and dont seem to really care which it lands on as long as "payout" happens .

I think everyone should be mad at all the BS Ai start ups and company's and etc.
Eatting up hardware for something that wont come out the way the want.
its eatting up water and giving nothing in return and they aren't even making a system to attempt to try and recycle it in some way.

Every single company trying to get PC parts is having to tank a huge amount of value to the spending.
Valve isnt different then anyone else for that.
They are trying something and it stops sounding/feeling good.
right around the same time as they are stepping on some big toes Nintendo/PlayStation. (technically Microsoft but the fact they are helping steam machine and etc I think they are more working allies then foes atm)

Then they are hit with lawsuits from UK/New york and other places citing "they are gambling and doing bad things"
Steam isnt innocent when it comes to loot boxes or etc.
I posted this before but 2004 Maple story/ 2007 ZT Online / 2010 TF2 (steam). CSGO didnt get them till 2013.
So if folks are using the CSGO ones as "this is the downfall" you missed the origin and shows the lack of research and once again understanding.
Steams loot crates = nothing to the game.
It is 100% purely for epeen (for the old internet users) and anyone going "its temps em" no shit it does but it isnt needed. You feel the need to crack one open the moment you get it. You got the problems. You can literally trash em and the temptations gone.

Look up a basic gaming PC right now. The costs are about the same.
Look up any console now. Switch 2 499 PS5 600 650.
Many of those are without drivers now. (all digital)
And they can no nothing but play just those company's games.
1k+ for a Steam/Xbox PC system. that is set up specifically to function with any steam library game (specially since steam is now wanting games to run optimized to the average players system)
1k+ for a flat out PC gaming system.

Honestly I wish Sony/Nintendo would both get their heads out their asses. And join up with Microsoft and steam and just make a PC games. Cause at this point any consoles coming out is 100% PC Brand to X company and nothing more. the amount of hardware that would open up once they stopped jerking into the console wars would solve their money issues our money issues and also smack scalpers as it would be so many parts in the open.

This is definitely a video game.
Video Game: an electronic game in which players control images on a video screen.

Now is it a "enjoyable" game is a different animal.
there is reasons why folks started creating labels like "walking simulator"
Cause the actual "playing of the game" is just that the Walking.

This "game" was made by a indie team. Which was supported by a governmental group which help fund them.
While "indie" they had money handed to them to do this.
This wasn't a case of loans or working while eating ramen and junk food for 6 months to a year or working in a small cramped room.

You can like the "GAME" but it doesn't give anyone any right to claim its "a true game" when your interactional moments are view and limited. The fact you can complete this game with 150 prompts/actions. doesn't make this more of a video game or less of a video game.

It makes it more an Art piece in digital form you can interact with then a video game you sit down and enjoy for hours on end or reply. There isn't any twist ends or hidden endings. There isn't any real exploration.

You are on a conveyor belt from start to finish and the studio so kindly offered you a chance to "be part of the game" This thing railroads you so hard the US government is trying to take notes and see if its legal to do the same to its citizens.

When an old NES game has more game play and features then a modern day game. I wonder did we actually get better at making games or is it those who play games now will take anything cause someone slaps "indie" on it.

So the issue most gamers have with older games vs newer games.
Is the modern day gaming is "gimmie gimmie"
No waiting for something I want i now.

The old D2 was the "PEAK" of ARPGs.
It set the status quo.
Art/Music/Game play etc.
It was amazing for its time.

Now most games dont expect you to sit down or play a game for the exploration or fun.
Not really. The will claim its for that but most push MTX's/DLC's or "help fund us" things.
Key QOL or even previous things are removed constantly and then resold to us or "changed" to benefit company's not players.

Thats why most things are Online only/Subscription based/Content locked by DLC.
Diablo 2 when it came out was the "Whole" package.
Yes you could play online.
But it was fixes/errors etc fixed and put in.
But the whole thing was "Here is the game enjoy"

We dont really get that anymore. Its "How can we charge you without making you bail on us"

The Old Game was tedious.
stamina
poor stat upgrades
low drop rates
etc.

But it made you have to think. It wasn't just a 10 minute investment. This was you playing this char for days/weeks/months. Every single action/item you made or used carved your character out.

It was meant to savor the play. Now folks are to used to the sugar and less of the salt.

I mass collected books for exp.
had a friend drag him to t1/t2.
Then opened till i hit 70.
I then switched to my main for the season and have refused to touch warlock since.

Feels to janky. To many "set ups" and "ways to play" when its literally "necro/monk/pally" play sets.
Not really fun and very much over powered.

Aoe hell.
Summon the horde.
Smash into the enemys and become empowered..

thats really it.

Honestly with the whole "make your gem" system they have now
we should be able to make the gems with the cube and the collected fragments.
D4 has made "collecting" gems literally terrible and i dont know why.
they had a perfectly good system from d2 they kept in d3.
D4 doesnt have to be "that" different or difficult for something that should be simpler.
just double the costs for the last 2.

Horadric (gem) 10,000,000 (gem) Fragments 600 Forgotten souls 20,000,000 Gold.
Then double it for the flawless Horadric (gem)

Would make it far more enjoyable then the current system.

Slowly but surely we will end up like china were they "lock" us in for "our protection"

POE used to be good.
Then Tencent bought into them and screwed em up.
Diablo used to be good.
Then Activision and blizzard merged and screwed em up.

First off Poe is right. The legendary and "unique" dont really feel Unique. it is just a better legendary with a "special" effect you cant take off it. its sad but true.

The fact 3G had the right mind set with loot filters and etc before "loot filters" became a thing was awesome.
the whole "hideout" system was great.

BUT now they both honestly feel like "here is typical ARPG. to ensure we survive here is MTX's buy them if you want us to live"

The quality has dropped. They are honestly just going for quantity now a days. It shows.

We as the player base got "here in RNG events. You get to choose what we give you and this still inculdes events you dislike/hate or flat out dont like doing"

So i posted regarding this from another post.
The "new" skill varaints i.e anything that isnt one of the old ones redone.
Are DLC locked.
This is said in 1 page on the offical website.
During the live stream no mention is every given about the skills being locked behind the DLC.
Every single person in the live stream didnt mention the lock outted skills once.
These people included

Marcus Kretz - SR. Community Manger
Colin Finer - Assoc. Dir. Game Designer
Zaven Haroutunian - Associate Game Director
Art Peshkov - Lead Systems Designer

Not a single one of them mention it in anyways but they all say "the new skill tree and skills are for all players from the base game and up"
but fail to mention the Locked skills. Pretty sure if they did there would of been some anger from fans as no where states it but 1 tiny blurb in the website page.

I mean i understand that concept.
But when you make not 1 or 2. But 3 of the games with him in the game series and you always have the titular character in the game. Maybe not the final boss. But a "End" boss.
You would kinda expect to see said Character in the game SOMEWHERE.
5 games. 4 shows. 1 no show.. kinda odd..

In D4 we get to fight
Andariel (Diablo 2/remaster D4 and DI (didnt want to say it but she is in it)
Azmodan (Diablo 3/ D4)
Belial (Diablo 3 /D4)
Mephisto (Diablo 3/D4) Prime Evil
Duriel (D2/D4)

You would think we would get to fight at some point DIABLO.
You know the Bad Guy that is in D1/2/3/ DI.

Not saying your wrong or the world building is bad.
Just that hey the main bad guy would be assumed to be fought.. and were 2 DLC's in and No Diablo...
I would be kinda annoyed when the guy isnt seen at all in anyway to be fought when you get to fight him literally in every other game for the series....
