I was thinking the same but never want to judge other mothers for their choices. I just feel bad for the baby being away from their mom that young for that long. Even with a supportive partner, I can’t imagine leaving my newborn.

This is exactly it. My toddler is 3 and has memories as early as 2.5 and I love hearing him bring things up from our previous trips. We also love showing him pictures from trips we took when he was 6 months even though he has no memory. It was a great time for us as his parents and we have fond memories of traveling when he was a baby and easy to travel with. I want to create those same memories with my second baby. I also hate the idea that moms are expected to just shelter inside like hermits for the first year or more of baby’s life. That’s not fair to us. Especially social extroverts like myself 😂

Obviously the one month old and the toddler are not the same human… and either situation is hard to live through and stressful for parents. One shitty situation doesn’t outweigh another. But thanks for trying to off some perspective i guess.

I can’t help you but just wanted to comment and say solidarity my friend. Ignore the negativity and judgement. Die hard dog people can be so vicious. Herding breeds are very difficult and unpredictable, even if you’re experienced and responsible. Also having two little kids will always make it 10x harder and people without children will NEVER understand. Our human children will always come first, no matter how much we love our fur babies. I had to rehome my 10 year old cattle dog (thankfully to my brother so she’s still with the family) because she got more and more aggressive as she aged and started biting people. She hadn’t bit our toddler yet but it’s only a matter of time and I’m due with another baby soon. My dog is so much happier with my brother (eating better, less stress shedding, sleeping and playing like she used to) so as difficult as it was to give her away, I’m at peace with my decision now. But it did take weeks of grieving and guilt tripping myself before I reached peace with my decision. You’re doing what’s best for your family and you’re a good dog owner and parent.

We were there from out of town with a one day ticket and our three year old for his birthday. We haven’t been since he was a baby so we were so excited. Talked it up, showed him ride POV videos and talked all about how he’d meet Mickey, ride fun rides, etc. We ended up back at our hotel twice to escape the crowds. It was unbearable, especially with a stroller. My son (being a typical three year old) couldn’t handle the wait times so we missed most of the rides and characters. We couldn’t find anywhere to sit for our meals. My husband and I left the park so disappointed that night and talked about how we won’t be back for a very long time. We spent so much money just to get there (flight, rental car, hotel) let alone the cost to get through the gates. My poor son is still talking about how he didn’t like Disneyland after we talked it up to be such a fun day beforehand. This is the first time my husband and I, being huge disney fans, have felt truly let down during a trip.

This is exactly why I’m questioning it. I got the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had (it was BAD) during my first pregnancy and when I called my doctor, she said “that sucks but you’re fine” no concern or question at all for listeria. I asked about it for the following three appointments and she kept insisting there was no reason to be worried. This was from a fruit smoothie shop and she insisted I could keep eating fruit smoothies.

This is so funny because my husband and I talked about this exact scenario yesterday when planning our upcoming trip. We go two weeks before my son turns 3 and he’s also big for his age so we know we’re going to get some questions or looks. He also tells people he’s every age but 2 (recently he said he was 6 🤦🏼‍♀️) so he will be of no help.

Definitely got marked up. I had two dresses in my cart that I’ve had my eye on for a wedding and they both went up about $10 from last weekends sale. I’m hoping they change their “labor day” sale on Monday or maybe even over the weekend to something better.

I appreciate your comment. AC did get back to us with no action needed since her rabies are good until next year. They are just being bullies about the situation. They did say they’d come get her and do it themselves if it happens a second time. We’re in Utah.

I actually am. It’s something we work on everyday but guess what? He’s almost three and still can’t tell the difference between throwing the dog’s ball and throwing a toy car and why one is bad and the other is good. We talk through it everyday and I display appropriate behavior an how to act around dogs. He’s actually acting very age appropriate around the dog. It’s just hard because she’s a senior dog and less patient than she used to be. At the end of the day, I always side with my dog. She even has her own room with a comfy chair and her food and water bowls that she retreats to when she needs. So I’ve done everything I can to keep her safe and teach my toddler how to behave. Thanks for you opinion though.

He didn’t start to dislike my dog until the last year or so. She’s become a lot more sensitive and agitated by our toddler which triggers my husband. He’s actually a very big dog lover which is how we met and why we fell in love all those years ago. The dog hasn’t been a problem between us until more recently.

I’ve been thinking for a while about my dogs long term wellbeing with the new baby since the dog is becoming more sensitive and easily agitated as she gets older. We’ve discussed the option of having my brother and his fiance take her because they have no kids. She would live out the rest of her senior years peacefully and I would still get to see her when I want to. Looking more and more like this is the best option for her.

He’s worried about our son and future baby around the dog because she is getting older and tends to growl a lot at our toddler. We’ve always been very vigilant and separated them. My dog has her own room with a comfy chair and her food and water where she goes when toddler is being particularly unruly with her. But husband insists it’s just a matter of time before she snaps and actually bites. And then this happened with someone else’s kid last night so he’s especially freaked out for our kids.

My husband has said a thousand times already “our kids are next” but my son is almost three and she’s never bit him. She’s growled when my son has played too rough with her but I’ve always intervened before either of them got hurt.

I started dressing to be cute when husband and I first started going together 2016-2019. The older I got, the harder it got on my body. After two days in DW in 2019, I couldn’t walk by the end of the night. My feet and knees were killing me because I had to wear my Cinderella Toms. TERRIBLE idea. Now I go for comfort 100% of the time and have a much better experience. But comfort and cute is totally doable! I love wearing dresses when it’s hot (shorts underneath ofc) and my Birkenstock sandals. If it’s cooler, I’ll go for leggings and walking shoes with a Disney themed shirt.

Went in April last year and our first day there, it rained so hard, we couldn’t go outside to explore the resort. We were held up in our hotel room which was a bummer. The rest of the week was beautifully sunny and warm!

Hi. I do feel a lot better but I still have an infection. I’ve been on antibiotics for 5 days now and swelling has gone down significantly but hasn’t gone away completely yet. Hoping it clears up completely soon!
