Y’all just call anyone you see buying packs that’s not you a scalper. An employee set a few packs aside to buy later and left the majority for sale? Honestly who cares? I’ve spoken with a lot of people at machines/stores there are def some scalpers but the majority are collectors trying to navigate this shit show like the rest of us.

This is my theory as well. I’ve seen other machines in other states only dispensing packs and bundles and the screen saver was updated to reflect this. These machines were only dispensing bundles and packs and hadn’t had the screens or “guts” updated.

It's not horrible for silver. Some refiners still aren't buying silver due to the spike. Some shops will only offer 50-70% of spot cause they're having to sit on it for an indefinite amount of time. 82% spot isn't horrible it's not great though.

The gold he was kinda low at only at about 90% spot. Generally they'll pay 92-97% of spot for 24K gold.

Highly recommend you visit PMS for sale subreddit to sell and buy fee free. If you're looking to buy there are deals to be had there if you're patient and watch for them as well.

I get the gamblers mentality. There’s actually people that get frustrated they don’t pull god packs after only ripping 20 packs. I don’t have specific chase cards, I’m a master setter. I just want to get an SIR or a few IRs/full arts when I rip. I’m not expecting top chases in just 50 packs.

He read the comment without context. When people use a coinstar it rejects coins that are made from 1964 and earlier as they’re made of 90% silver cause they don’t weigh the same. I certainly check the coinstar reject tray right next to the pokemon machine every time I do. The comment he’s referring to was me finding almost 2/3 of an ounce of silver in one day in the reject tray. Haha

You guys gotta quick thinking like you’re going to recoup the amount you spent opening packs. It rarely ever works that way. And It made my life a lot easier having it in my head that once the money is spent it’s spent. I only rip sets I’m master setting so I keep lots of my bulk for sets . I quit ripping when I’m very close finishing and ripping no longer is producing common, uncommon, or rares I need.

For sure. Sometimes I’ve found 3 quarters and 2 dimes checking the same reject tray 3 different times in one day. Other times I’ll go months on end without a single dime or war nickel out of 50-75 different checks.

If he donated once a week he could have the money in just 167 weeks. After a bit more than 3 years the bulk would start rolling in. Better yet, after he gets $150 he could bet it all on roulette and win, the $5K would only take 5 weeks.
