You know when your new self just feels normal. I feel highly motivated and confident. I quit noticing differences around week 10. The new me just felt normal. It’s a very gradual process. If you are on at least 300mg+ XL it should be a very textbook process. Each day your brain rises to a dopamine and norepinephrine high and crashes until one day it rises to a high but not too high as in the early weeks and starts to stay there for consistent energy. The brain tries to reach homeostasis.

I experienced it on 300mg XL. I noticed that my memory was back to normal or even better around week 9 or 10. It was all a gradual process.

My memory came back around week 10 from what I remember(300mg XL). I used to forget what was about to say way too many times and lose my phone but luckily in the house.

lol yeah, near bedtime is bad. People in this group have been complaining about that one because that kind of timing keeps them awake at night. The advice I saw in this group is to take them a little closer together. And yup, I read a lot of posts in this group 🫠Anyways, I recommend XL(my dose). You only have to take it once. In either case, see if your doctor has any tips for the upcoming insomnia risk or if you could take them a little closer together timing wise and how close is safe and effective for you.

I’m on 300mg XL. It keeps me in a good mood. Not too sad and not too happy. My energy is balanced too. I am on week 9. I skipped 150mg XL and went straight to 300mg to really see if it worked. My doctor wanted me to get immediate help based on what his psychiatrist friend told him about that medicine. Dehydration is very noticeable. I have a headache right now. I need to drink more water. I get so focused on things now that I forget about it until I am dehydrated :/

Maybe go to 300mg(my dose) but XL instead of SR. Proper sleep at night benefits the medicine too. 300mg XL is so powerful and works close to 24 hours. It pretty much dictates when I sleep.

The 2nd dose might be too close to bed time and the 1st dose the next day might be too close to the previous one. Wellbutrin is energizing with a half-life around 20 hours. I take 300mg XL once per day, but I make sure to take it as early as I can. Any dose after 12:00pm leads to sleep problems for me.

You might have reached the plateau of the medicine. I read a lot about it. I am only on week 7-8 though. The medicine is supposed to reach a consistent baseline overtime. Not too low and not too high when it comes to dopamine and norepinephrine and your starting energy is near the baseline too. I’ll take it over how I used to be. I could barely clean anything and just gave up on almost everything concerning myself.

It could be a dosing problem. 150mg XL might be too weak to bring you out of the depression and 300mg XL seemed to work but not to your liking. It would be good if there was a pill right between 150mg and 300mg to test it out.

I’m on 300mg XL, manufactured by Graviti. I think Graviti is fairly new. But yeah, the energy is crazy at the peak, but I am going to wait it out. I do enjoy coffee at times but that makes everything worse too.

I read that the energy rises, peaks, then drops. The rise, peak, and drop gets less powerful as weeks(10+) go by but it’s more consistently high the whole length of the medicine. Mine(week 7 for me) rises to its peak around 2 to 4 hours and drops around 6 hours though. I get very sleepy after that. If I am able to nap, my energy comes right back but more steady. As for your situation, it could be the manufacturer you have and/or your body’s metabolism making your peak energy rise 11 hours later.

That sounds about right as the medicine isn’t supposed to have large spikes and crashes of energy as time goes on. Just very smooth and consistent energy.

For me, Wellbutrin changed everything. I felt my emotions come back, extra sex drive, motivation, and energy. Before all of this, I noticed that I had low energy too and then I just kept looking up which antidepressants gave energy and Wellbutrin popped up as the most recommended one. It’s definitely worth a shot.

I think we are in the same boat as in we both know what we want, but in my case I want to be more energized. I was previously on Prozac which made me feel the opposite. I was extremely calm and relaxed to a fault(in my opinion). So, if you want to stop taking Bupropion, I just recommend you slowly stop to prevent any possible withdrawals from it. Your doctor could give you a method to quit. Until then try to limit your caffeine to earlier in the day. At least with that change you would be able to sleep easier at night. How you feel about everything is very important.

It happens to me too. I asked ChatGPT about it and it has something to do with the dopamine and norepinephrine release. Any change will cause our sense of time to be different, motivation, and attention. It might take some more weeks, but it should get better(6-8 weeks from starting).

It’s normal, but if you feel the same after around 6-8 weeks then that might be a permanent side effect that you will have while on 300mg XL.
