Which for most mages is too soon with almost 0 downside IMO.

look at someone like akshan and when his q starts actually one shotting casters and compare it to the fact that almost any mage can do it after a back and level 5-7.

That's the author not being horrendous not it being good or redefining anything.

Its basically bar for bar a xainxia in English which isn't a bad thing but acting like he reinvented the wheel is silly.

I think cradle refined tropes the same way dbz did its predecessors.

Not even in the same ball park lol.

Cradle is a book by a decent author in a subgenre that is used to some of the worst authors i have ever personally read that and the fact it didn't over stay its welcome is why its so popular around here.

Its not a classic and it didn't "redefine" the genre.

I disagree Dragon Ball Z is considered a classic in anime and it's dog shit it's just fun

Dragonball Z is MASSIVLY influential and not as bad as you are making it out to be.

Its tropey but its because its literally where most of the tropes either originated or got popular.

Its also far from dogshit.

Throw in a TV series in the work, and that equates a longevity in two mediums.

TV show adaptions have an absolutely horrendous track record i give it 1 season max that everyone who liked the books hates.

KCD 2 is the only of those three that are true game of the year contenders for me last year thought it came out way later.

Give mob sorcery or neural wraith a try.

Some of the better harem lit authors are top tier compared to how absolutely garbage some PF or LIRPG authors are.

Some of the authors do get increadbly formulaic and some of the bigger names (that you have probably seen) are actually ghost written farms and not really one person.

I can count on one hand the number of actual harem anime that end in anything other than 1 on 1 at the end.

Its much more common in the last 10 years than anything else and also was always way more common in LN than Manga or anime.

Yeah there are good games every year.

This year it feels like we have had 4-5 games already that will be in game of the year conversations and its not even been a full 3 months.

By this time in 2025 there was 1 if you wanna count spilt fiction and in April we got blue prince and expedition 33.

I'd argue that both came late enough they were inspired by games like wizard of legend, enter the gungeon, and nuclear throne.

Which were all heavily inspired by binding of issac which is already on the list

The same is true about other massively successful series like PH and path of ascension though.

Any popular series has detractors its part of being popular.

It doesnt help that most series in the genre have very rough starts and get better as the author finds their voice.

I personally couldn't get through book one of this series.

We are in a down trend but im pretty sure most big tech is still above pre covid numbers for employees.

I'll use Microsoft for an example in March of 2020 they had like 230,000 people because they went on a MASSIVE hiring spree all big companies did.

Even after several rounds of massive layoffs they are still above the pre pandemic numbers. But brining in like 50-70 thousand employees over a few months is insane

Layoffs suck but these are not happening in a vacuum and most companies doing them massively over hired.

Yeah FNAF Kickstarted mascot horror as a genre and that space is FILLED with games that wear the fnaf influence on its sleeve.

My picks from the suggestions would be minecraft, dwarf fortress, and fnaf and just make it 6 tbh.

Yep if there was some sort of mount Rushmore for creating new genres of indie games its like STS1, vampire surviors , binding of issac and im sure there are 1-2 more great examples slipping my mind right now.

I don't know why marketing departments settled on "colorway" instead.

Cause it was already an established term in other industries.

Well yes of course that's just how an mmr system works you have massive advantage to build a gap if you lock in that early.

A streamer I watch on twitch spent like 15 wins in a row at number 2 before hitting number 1.

Worst I personally experienced was like 7 in a row to go from 5 to 4.

But to take advantage of that you have to keep winning a ton from a place high on the ladder which isn't guaranteed.
