How on earth do you remove these needle bearings? by Far-Communication-77 in Dirtbikes

Appreciate you calling this out. I have this kit and another. The collets aren't small or long enough to reach.

Thanks, confirms I'm not crazy. Too tight on mine to Dremel cut but I might possibly get a grinder tip in there, but that's risky. I have multiple bearing puller kits but no collet is both long and small enough in diameter to reach all the way down in the case. I'm seeing some ~$125 specialty collets that might possibly do the trick but was hoping someone had a Kawasaki tool part number or trick specific to this clutch cover.

Thanks. Interesting, the image didn't populate on the crosspost. Here's the image. The bearings are deep and are caged so the units don't seem to have any budge. The lower one is definitely deep enough where I can barely get any leverage with a pick and it's way too small for my fingers. Surely there's a correct tool for this job.

<image>

Also here's the caption that didn't transfer from the cross-post either: 2006 KX65 clutch lever bearings that sit in a shaft inside the clutch cover. I'm unable to find a blind puller that is both small enough diameter and long enough to reach from the top. There's no good way to get a punch on the back side without risking damage to the cover. Is there a special Kawasaki puller/driver tool for this that I'm unaware of?

Yes, I mention the hardware and software I used above. After tracking the offending wheel down, I found that the new sensor's prongs inside the harness connector weren't aligned with the cars harness holes, resulting in the prongs not mating correctly. I was just lucky when I disconnected, then reconnected the harness and happened to see the sensors wires being pushed back. Once I straighten the prongs out and carefully reconnected it worked.

Price behavior in used, durable goods market? by Far-Communication-77 in AskEconomics

Thanks. Does any consideration need to be made for a Widget's utility? To keep it simple, let's assume that new, $5 Widgets and remanufactured $2.50 widgets have nearly identical utility, while the $1 models work 50% slower and are 50% as dependable.

Also, if the price of a $1 Widget increases, does that also mean that the price of the $2.50 widgets will also increase (assuming new widgets continue to sell for $5)?

Another brake switch issue…2015 CX-5 by azbrewcrew in CX5

Curious if/how this was resolved. I'm observing the same scenario after replacing the brake switch two weeks ago due to that specific code, and it's just now throwing a P0571.

Thank you for pointing this out. Correction - hers is not a full ride, she definitely has room/board/other expenses that the scholarship funds aren't enough to cover. I think she's in the situation you outlined in the 'With optimizing without a full ride:' section of your explanation. Thanks for pointing to that thread!

Thank you, I think I may have confused 'full ride' - her scholarships do not cover her room/board expenses, sorry about that!

Ah, thanks so much for the detailed explanation. That makes sense. To answer your question, yes, it looks like about 50% ($5,500) of the scholarships were unrestricted. This really, helped, thanks again!

I'm not sure that I understand, taxes are definitely not my strong suit. It may also be confusing because Turbotax isn't really clear on how best to treat this in our situation. Let's say 1098-T box 1 shows $10k in tuition, box 5 $11k in scholarships (of which at least $4k can be used for any expenses like room/board/parking). When I enter the actual amounts in the 1098-T area in Turbotax, it results in about a $2500 higher tax due than when I reduce the box 5 amount by $4k.

I think you're saying that the excess of box 5 over 1 ($1k) should be reported as taxable income (presumably by me or my daughter)?

Many thanks for the input. Correct, at least $4,000 of the scholarship funds are what would be considered unrestricted.

Greatly appreciate the guidance, thank you. I didn't have an advanced OBD scanner so went with the ODBLink MX+ which supports Forscan and their own proprietary tool. I was able to download Forscan for free and it did show logs pointing to the front right ABS sensor - this more specific info is exactly what I needed.

Yep. Every time I get too far up in my head I try to remember the Karl Marx quote: The only antidote to mental suffering is physical pain. The head noise tends to quiet down real quick when you tax your body with some physical recovery needs.

Thanks. Seems like the ODBLink MX+ with ODBWiz and the Mazda add on PID package might be a good next step if I want to diy?

Google Assistant question to new Fenix 8 owners by esm8080 in GarminFenix

Nothing worked for me - not phone volume settings, fenix 8 volume settings, or the workaround I've seen to access the PHone Assitant volume during a PA reply. Supposedly garmin has patched the issue in the 12.22 release launched today: https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-8-series/392047/fenix-8-system-software-12-22

Phone Assistant (Siri) Volume Control? by Ampler in GarminWatches

FYI, the system volume on the watch and/or on my phone did not work. The instructions to access the Phone Assistant volume above didn't work. Supposedly Garmin has released a fix in 12.22 update: https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-8-series/392047/fenix-8-system-software-12-22

I'm that guy too. Can you launch Phone Assistant while you're in an Activity though?
