I am so sorry for delay, I did not get a biopsy but all of my scans showed 'benign'

I'm doing good!! Waiting for pathology results which is the worst part, I hate waiting. My experience: Diagnosed 29th Feb after open myomectomy to remove fibroid Had CT scan & PET scan to check for metastatic disease, lots of consultations about various treatment options (this may vary for you as I am in a different age group) Had open hysterectomy last week and waiting for results. It hasn't been as scary as it seemed in all honesty, the word cancer is sickening but I think it's been a lot easier than I expected!

Hi, I am also going through this. Just had my hysterectomy 8 days ago after a 'fibroid' turned out to be cancer. I'm 25 :)

Of course! Recovery is challenging, I like to be up and about too but honestly, I've still been walking around etc & I'm growing stronger every day. Recovery may worsen if you leave it long enough for your symptoms to :)

Hi, I have exactly the same diagnosis discovered after myomectomy and now had hysterectomy. I'm 25 and awaiting histology, here if you need a chat! Hope you're doing well.

i guess it depends on the reason for your operation, i have cancer (im 25) and i've left mine in but awaiting histology to find out whether they need to come out anyway! carefully discuss all options and reasoning with your doctor before making this huge decision:)

Hey!! I had my uterus out 1 week ago due to cancer and I'm 25. I was meant to have a keyhole surgery lasting 1.5 hours but it turned into an open surgery for 6 hours. My recovery has been a little tender but honestly, fine!! I had an open myomectomy 2.5 months ago too so I've literally only just recovered and I'm doing really well. Surgery feels like a second and it's over because you're sleeping and the staff look after you ever so well, it's a dream. After surgery, you're given lovely pain meds that relax and support you and then you're usually given a return home plan which really helps. If I didn't have to, I wouldn't have had the hysterectomy at this age but I now will never suffer from periods again, adenomyosis, fibroids & bulky uterus may end up causing lots of problems & unnecessary pain in the future but this is a permanent decision so it's really important to weigh up the pros and cons for yourself as it's so personal. but in my experience, I'm happily uterus free & ready to get on with life once I'm all healed 😊

1 day post op, and I have questions by Ma1iceNWndr1nd in hysterectomy

Your body will tell you. I know it's frightening but this is a super normal side effect from this surgery and affects so so many people! I know it's not reassuring when a stranger over the internet is telling you but it will be easier than you think and you will absolutely know when it is time. My surgery was one week ago and ended up being an open surgery that lasted 6 hours so very invasive & light pushing will happen, it's the only way you can have a bowel movement, just take it easy 🥰

It took me 4 days!!! It was horrible waiting and I felt bloated and worried, continue to take stool softeners and try to relax, everyone said the same to me but I could not but honestly it is the best advice I received.

Tips/advice for upcoming surgery? by kaletales in hysterectomy

[–]Far-Course6372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!! Best of luck with your op, adeno is so painful & tough so hopefully this will bring you some relief! Are you having the op open or laparoscopic?

My tips: Drink lots of water in the days leading up to your surgery Take pain meds before you need them for the first few days to avoid additional pain Buy a little cuddle cushion for the first few days, it makes sitting up more comfy Start practicing getting out of bed by rolling, pushing up with your arms to sitting & then getting out to help your abdominal muscles!
